Foreword Described as the "only great city of the world that started as afantasy," Miami, with its subtropical climate, naturally protected harbor,
and spectacular beaches, has traditionally been a haven for tourists and
retirees. Since the late 198s, however, the city has sustained
unprecedented growth and, while transforming its image, has emerged as
a center of international finance and commerce and as a regional center
for !atin merican and #aitian art.
$ut the real reason why % am writing about Miami is the bas&etball
team, Miami #eat, a great team, inspiring me to play this game. 'layers
determination to get better and win championships, has challenged me to
play this sport, a great way of e(ercise and a great way to have fun with
friends and possibly ma&e some new ones. $as&etball is a great way to
get your mind off things and it)s also a great way to e(press yourself.
*urthermore, my passion for bas&etball was always there. % waswatching games since % was a child, dreaming that % would become a
great bas&etball player in the future. !ebron +ames and Dwyane ade
have always inspired me to play and their determination proved to me
that winning has its sacrifices. -he pain and the determination is the price
of winning, not only in bas&etball, but also in life.
lthough other sports may be very fun and enoyable, % believe that
bas&etball is truly the best, most e(citing sport to play. %n many aspects, it
is the greatest and has been a very popular sport for many years. -he
game has made me believe that bas&etball is not ust a sport, it is a
lifestyle.
