GeographyMiami is a city located on the Atlantic coast in southeastern Florida . It has a population of 420.000 and it is a major center and a leader in finance , commerce , culture , media , entertainment , arts and international trade.

Miami has a tropical climate with hot and humid summers and short , warm winters , due to its position just above the Tropic of Cancer

The arts Miami is home to many entertainment venues , theaters , museums , parks and performing arts centers. Florida Grand Opera is the second largest performing arts center in the USA , attracting a big number of musicians , singers ,actors ,dancers and orchestral players . Frost Art Museum , Miami Children Museum , Miami Science Museum and Miami Main Library are also places , a visitor is worth to see .

Education In Miami the children must attend school from the age of 5 until they are 16. Around 65% of children in the USA go in private schools. The rest of the children are going to public school. In Miami there are eleven private universities and only four public. Over 200,000 students are studying at colleges and universities.

Sports Miami’s main 4 sports teams are the Miami Dolphins in football , the Miami Heat and the Miami Marlins in basketball and the Florida Panthers in hockey .There are also many college sports teams as well as tennis teams and golf courses .

Leisure TimeFrom its white – sand beaches to its amazing parks , Miami is the perfect place to spend your leisure time . You can visit : the Miami Zoo , the Miami Seaquarium , the Shark Valley , the Everglades Safari Park , the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden .
