Dear Parents/Guardians,

Happy Monday! I hope you had an amazing weekend with your family. We are in our second

week of 4th quarter and it is flying by. I have some great news to share…we have 655 Top

Tigers! This is awesome! Top Tigers are students with a 3.5 GPA and no disciplinary

referrals. ‘Thank you’ to all our parents for your efforts at home and for supporting MHS

while we work toward academic excellence for your child. I want to remind you that

tomorrow is the Science AIMS testing. Please see the information inside this Tiger Beat to

verify when your child is supposed to be at school tomorrow. Don’t hesitate to call with any

questions. Have a wonderful week and I hope you find some time to enjoy this great weather.

SCIENCE AIMS TESTING Tomorrow, March 31, 2015 Marana High School will conduct the spring testing session

of Science AIMS.

Freshmen Students in ANY BIOLOGY class or Sophomores, who did NOT take the test as a Freshmen, are required to attend the Science AIMS testing tomorrow, March 31st at 8:55 am.

� Sophomores, who took the test last year as Freshmen, do NOT have to take the exam.

Room assignments are posted in the Library window for testing Students to see where they are testing.

If you are a Sophomore Bio student and are unclear if you should take the test, check the Library window to see if you are assigned.

ALL OTHER STUDENTS should arrive tomorrow by 12:03pm for classes.

The Marana Unified School District transportation department will provide a second

bus route on March 31 exactly 2 and ½ hours after the regular pick-up time in the

morning to accommodate students not taking AIMS tests.

The bell schedule has been included below as a reference. If you have any questions,

PROM TICKETS – “A Vintage Affair” Prom tickets are on sale in the Bookstore. Prom

night is Saturday, April 25th, at the Westin La Paloma Resort 8:00PM-Midnight. Tickets

are $60/single and $100/couple. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR.

Permissions slips must be filled-out for guests ahead of time, or they will not be allowed

entry.

AFTER PROM EXPERIENCE – Parents, do you want your children to have a Safe &

Fun After-Prom Experience? If so, we have the event for you and your child! Our STAND

Club (Students Together Against Narcotics and Drinking) is sponsoring an After-Prom

party beginning at 11:30 PM and lasting until 5:00 AM at Bedroxx. Tickets will be on sale

soon so please be on the lookout. Email or call Mrs. Whaley at

[email protected] or 616-6400 ext. 5609 with any questions.

GRAD NIGHT – Seniors & Parents: Still interested in attending Grad Night? Complete a

Senior Grad Night 2015 ticket reservation registration form indicating your interest in

attending Grad Night, May 20th, after graduation and turn it into the Bookstore at

school. The price is now $80 per Senior. Checks are payable to MHS PTO. Bring your

ticket reservation form and payment to the book store ASAP. Make sure both are in an

envelope labeled “SENIOR GRAD NIGHT” and include student’s first and last name on the

front of the envelope. A MHS Grad Night Ticket Reservation Form has been attached for

your convenience. Seniors Only!

MARANA ATHLETICS

Tiger Pride

We are in the spring athletic season with baseball, softball, tennis, track and men’s

volleyball. All programs are entrenched in the 3C’s (Culture, Commitment, and

Competitiveness) at practice, on the field, court, and on campus.

We had a great turn-out for the Baseball and Softball games last week against CDO. Our

girls were successful beating CDO 5-3 which was an upset for the Dorados. The Lady

Tiger Track athletes competed and beat MVHS and ALA at last Wednesday’s track meet.

Our young men came in 2nd. Our Men’s Volleyball team is doing extremely well and on

their way to meet their goal of Section Champions. The entire program is working

diligently to be competitive and to make their mark in Men’s Volleyball.

We have some tough games this week against Sahauro for Baseball and Softball,

Volleyball will face Tucson High, and our Tennis teams will compete against Poston

Butte. Come out and support your Tigers - they are working hard for you!
