    Dear Friend in Mental Health:

    If you believe as we do that there is a need to identify and address gaps and lobby forchange in the provision of mental health care, please join us for important discussions on

    Monday, March 3rd

    , 2008,to help create the Mental Health Coalition of Nova Scotia.

    This forum will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in Theatre A of the Tupper Building,

    Dalhousie University, 5850 College Street, Halifax, and is free of charge. A registrationform is attached and the deadline to register is Monday, February 18

    th. Please circulate

    this letter and registration form to anyone you feel may be interested.

    The Organizational Committee has drafted Terms of Reference and identified commonissues to begin our discussion. We need your help to develop a plan for sustaining the

    Coalition, identifying priorities, and determining objectives totake action on the

    priorities.

    Why a COALITION?

    To define our communitys (Nova Scotia) strengths and weaknesses, and usethese indicators to plan a strategy

    To identify gaps and work together to fill those gaps To share similar concerns but from a variety of perspectives To improve communication delivery through the numerous members To be more visible to decision-makers, the media and the community To conserve resources by eliminating duplication of efforts
