Geothermal and other Drilling Duties and Responsibilities (2005-2015)

Being on site the entire shift to ensure safe drilling is taking place.

Good understanding of well design and functionality of each integral piece of Safety Equipment used.

Importance of Safety Equipment (BOP Stack) as per API Standards and the safe execution of drilling Geothermal Wells.

Provide Safety training / techniques for Operators and crews while drilling Geothermal.

Safety training for crews in “Self-rescue Units” in the event of gas being intersected.

Safety training in Gas detection units for Operators.

Training in Emergency controls and procedures to be followed in the event of a Well Blowout.

Ensuring all Safety equipment for drilling and drilling crew’s safety equipment is checked and logged at start of each shift.

Maintaining good Safety discipline culture amongst all crew member at all times.

Ensuring all Geothermal SOP are communicated and fully understood by drilling crews.

Oversee the mixing of Special Geothermal Grout and pumping thereof.

Overseeing all drilling and running of Casing ensuring all Safety procedures are followed.

Ensuring chemicals are mixed and pumped correctly.

Checking proceedings and being present when wedges are being set to ensure correct procedures are followed.

Setting targets for each rig and crew in the field.
