I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
Guided by the values of faith, zeal for service and communion in mission, this course discusses ethical theories, principles and concepts as they apply tothat human activity we call business. This is achieved by helping students realize their full potentials (has passion for excellence ) as future managersand business leaders, in collaboration with the community as Gods people (God - loving ), and partners in economic and nation building ( patriotic ).Theunderlying aim of this subject is to prepare the students to make sound ethical decisions in business and become socially and morally responsiblemanagers, entrepreneurs and business leaders.

III. FINAL PRODUCT
The goal is to come up with a group research about the Best Practices of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) among selected companies in theCALABARZON area, report it in class and be able to answer questions.
o The class will be divided in groups and will do a research through observation, interviews and plant visits about the programs, activities andpolicies being undertaken by different companies on CSR.( Has passion for excellence )
o You shall act as a Resource Person and report to the class your findings by way of written output and power point presentation. ( Patriotic )o Your report and presentation shall run for 30 minutes and must show the different involvement of selected companies on various CSR activities
and the impact they make to their stakeholders. Your output must also show relevant assessment of these CSR functions and activities inrelation to the principles of ethics and good governance which you have learned in our class discussions. ( God-loving )

A. VI. COURSE POLICIES
i. Class Attendance . A significant portion of your learning is dependent on your participation in, and contribution to, the classroomcommunity. You are expected to be in class, turn in all work on time, and significantly contribute to the classroom discussion. Youshould notify me personally in advance regarding all approved absences.
You maybe absent only (due to sickness or extremely unavoidable circumstances), for a maximum of 9 hours, inclusive of tardiness. You areheld responsible for all lessons and requirements that you missed during your absence. All absences after that shall mean excessiveabsences, which merit a grade of 0.00.
ii. Ass ig nments . Assignments will be due at the beginning of class unless otherwise indicated. Assignments turned in after the duedate will not be accepted. There is no provision for make up for any missed assignment.
iii. Seatwork . There is no provision for makeup for any missed seatwork.
iv. Quizzes and Examinations . You are expected to do your own work on the examinations and are responsible to protect your workfrom being copied by your classmates. Reference materials may not be used during quizzes and examinations. Make-up quizzesare given for excused absences only. If you missed any quiz you should see me during my consultation hours on the day you reportto our class to schedule the make up quiz. You will lose the chance to take the special quiz if you fail to take such as scheduled.
v. Major Examinations . There will be two major examinations with a Comprehensive Final Examination. You may take a specialexamination only if your failure to take such is due to an approved absence, sickness, or extremely unavoidable circumstances. Youare responsible for arranging the schedule with me. Special major examination is given only within one week after the examinationschedule.
vi. Policy on Scholastic Dishonesty . Acts prohibited by the University for which discipline may be administered include scholasticdishonesty, including but not limited to, cheating on an examination or quiz, plagiarizing, and unauthorized collaboration withanother in preparing outside work. The academic work you will submit shall be the result of your thought, research, or self-expression. An academic work is defined as, but not limited to, tests, quizzes, whether taken electronically or on paper; projects,either individual or group; classroom presentations, and assignments. If you engaged yourself in an academic dishonesty you will besubjected to a range of disciplinary actions, from a failing grade on an activity in question to expulsion from the University.

vii. Reference materials . The reference materials are essential learning tools. In order to succeed in this course. You will need tospend time reading it in advance.
viii. Proper Decorum in the Classroom . Cellular phones should always be in silent mode during class hours; the use of cellularphones is prohibited in class unless a special permission is sought. The use of walkman or similar gadgets during class hours isalso prohibited. The use of translators is strictly prohibited during quizzes and major examinations. Civility in the classroom is
expected from all members of the class.
ix. General Concerns . All written requirements should be completed on appropriate working papers with your name, date and type ofcourse requirement. Documents should have a neat, professional appearance and be stapled in correct sequential order. All writtenanswers/solutions must be prepared using correct format, grammar, punctuation and spelling. You must provide your own supplies,including a non programmable calculator, for use whenever necessary. Only black ballpoint pen is allowed.
x. Other Concerns Relative to the Class . Any concern that is relevant to the class should be brought to my attention before it iselevated to a higher authority or an outside party. This would cover, for instance, complaints directed to me (manner of teaching,grades, etc.) or to your classmates. Special arrangements requested due to certain situations (e.g., a students disabling condition)may be decided and acted on a case to case basis.
xi. Other matters . Other matters not provided in the preceding policies concerning this class maybe resolved within the bound ofUniversity policy.
