Dave is MGISS’s dedicated technical and pre/post-sales support resource. He has a wealth of GNSS and mobile GIS expertise gained with the likes of Trimble and ESRI products across the UK, and will be responsible for developing the Digiterra software application and with new and existing customers. Dave, who’s spent more than 40 years within the Survey and GIS industry, has been looking to retire so we put our heads together and I acquired the business from him in April. There’s obviously been lots of work going on behind the scenes as Dave has been supporting customers of Spectra Precision (formerly Ashtech) and Digiterra software across the UK and Ireland for over last 10 years but we’re not completely losing him... Dave will be providing support to the business going forward to provide continuity and support for existing customers. My existing GeoGRAFI consultancy has been distributing ikeGPS solutions in the UK and Ireland with customers such as Power utilities, Infrastructure services, Environmental services and Government. ikeGPS integrates sub-metre GPS, laser rangefinder (300m range), digital compass and digital camera into a single handheld mobile device. Remote measurement and simple workflows link all your Geospatial data in one place and significantly improve field productivity. The next generation Spike (SmartPhone Ike) integrates the technology into your Smartphone OS including iOS and Android. Spike will be available from MGISS in June and we will be reporting on this innovation in our next newsletter so keep an eye out for Mike and Spike!!
