When we want to compare two people, animals orthings we use the COMPARATIVE FORM OFADJECTIVES.
When we want to compare MORE than two people,animals or things we use the SUPERLATIVE FORMOF ADJECTIVES.

USING ADJETIVES AND ADVERBS
COMPARATIVES: + (MSQUE)
One syllable adjectives :We add-erplusthanto makethe comparative form.
i.e. small + er = smaller than
i.e. hard + er = harder than
2 or more syllable adjs(not ending iny): We use moreplus thanto make the comparative form.
The ant is smaller than the hippo.
The butterfly is more
beautiful than the frog.

SUPERLATIVE: + (EL MS) One syllable adjectives :We use THEand add
est to the adjective
i.e. small + est = the smallest
i.e. hard + est = the hardest
2 or more syllable adjs: We use THE MOSTbefore the adjective
THEANTISTHESMALLEST.
THE PRINCESS WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL OFALL.

SPELLING RULES (FOR-ER/-ESTENDINGADJSONLY)
Adjective ends: single consonant + single vowel + singleconsonant the consonant letter is doubled
e.g.: thin thinner, big the biggest.
Adjective ends in e this is removed when adding
-er/-est
e.g.: wide wider/the widest.
Adjective ends in a consonant followed by -y -y isreplaced by -i when adding -er/-est
e.g.: happyhappier/the happiest.

We use NOT SO/AS + Adj + AS is used to say that things
are unequal, with a similar meaning to lessthan
Im as clever as Einstein.

The frog is less beautiful
than the butterfly.
