Introduction to Metro RF Services

Metro RF Services, Inc. (a spinoff of Metro Wireless Communications established in 1986), was founded in 2001 to provide engineering and infrastructure development services to support the rapid expansion of an emerging wireless industry. A decade later, Metro RF Services has become a premier full-service contractor providing project management, civil, and electrical solutions covering all aspects of todays rapidly evolving telecommunications industry. With offices located in California and New Jersey, Metro RF Services has managed infrastructure implementation projects for both the public and private sectors, from San Diego to Seattle and Philadelphia to Buffalo. Our strong project management and seasoned field personnel manage all projects hands-on to ensure complete satisfaction for all clients.

SAFETY

Metro RF Services places safety at the forefront of everything we do. Our staff is trained to identify all potential hazards and unsafe work conditions prior to beginning work on all jobsites. Our impeccable safety record is a testament to the commitment to safety that Metro RF Services lives by.

Metro RF Services provides OSHA certification training though our full-time, in-house safety professional (OSHA 500 trainer) and offers regular training and refresher courses in CPR/First Aid, Fall Prevention, Man-Lift Certifications, RF/EME Awareness, Man lift Certifications and ComTrain to name a few.

Regular training, certification, and refresher classes are attended by Metro RF Services staff to ensure we stay on top of today’s ever evolving telecommunications industry and changing technologies.


Capabilities and Track Record

Here are some of our more notable experiences:

Site Audits - In 2004, completed approximately 500 site inventory audits for the New York City Market for T-Mobile.

Quality Assurance - In 2005 and 2006, managed and performed over 600 Quality Assurance Inspections in the NY and NJ Market on New Site Builds for T-Mobile. In 2008, implemented Quality Assurance Polices and Procedures for a Northrop Grumman managed project for the City of New York’s FDNY, EMS and NYPD communication systems on over 80 sites.

UMTS Site Audits – Since 2006 to 2011, completed over 700 UMTS Site Audits.

UMTS Consolidations – Since 2006 to 2011 performed over 950 UMTS (3G) Consolidations.

3G Cabinet Deployments – Since 2006 to 2011 performed over 1500 3G upgrades. Including TMAs, Antennas and Coax.

RET Repair/Replacement - In 2007, managed and performed audits and RET motor repair/replacement on approximately 1,323 sites in a three month period.

Software Upgrades - In 2008, managed and performed on-site system firmware upgrades and replacement on approximately 1,100 sites in one and a half month time-frame.

Hardware Upgrades – In 2008 upgraded the entire antenna systems on over 300 sites. In 2009, upgraded amplifiers on over 120 sites in the New York City Market in a period of three months. Exceeded all previous records set by other contractors. In 2010, upgraded an additional 80 sites as determined by RF engineering.

Field Operations and RF Engineering - From 2004 to 2011 managed and performed over 7,000 work orders and trouble tickets.

HSPA+ Upgrades – Completed over 150 fiber installations and upgrades.

4G Site Upgrades – Since 2010 we have completed over 100 WiMax and LTE cell site upgrades.

During any phase of the project - planning, construction or operation - Metro RF has the experienced personnel to handle your electrical and electronic testing and certification needs. Metro RF and its affiliates have the capability to test and certify everything electrical and electronic - from incoming electrical power to RF transmissions to fiber.

Metro RF’s team of professionals has the knowledge, the experience, the ability and the equipment necessary to provide clients with the most cost-effective maintenance and support solutions to meet their project needs. Metro RF works with clients to establish a periodic inspection and maintenance program that addresses each site’s particular requirements.

Upon request, Metro RF will provide an emergency response and repair program to service unforeseen outages. Whether it’s a sector down or electrical feeds, response times are critical, and with Metro RF on your team, you are assured the frequency and duration of downtime will be greatly minimized.

Most tickets are completed within 24-48 hours from the time they are received.


Tower / Site Construction Services

Metro RF has the crews, the tools and the experience.

Metro RF’s construction crews can perform every phase of the job, from clearing to fencing, grading to landscaping. From rooftops to water towers, monopoles to lattice towers, whip antennas to stealth panels, Metro RF’s crews are all experienced in tower erection, as well as antenna and transmission line installation and alignment. Metro RF has the crews, the tools and the experience.

When clients call, their needs are often immediate, and they can’t afford to wait. Metro RF’s tower crews are fully equipped to handle any job, anywhere, anytime. For Metro RF’s crews, safety is the keyword on all jobs and the first priority. Metro RF’s crews realize and understand the inherent dangers in their job, and they exercise the highest degree of caution as a result. They have the newest OSHA-approved safety equipment, and inspect it daily. They regularly receive training in all aspects of safety, including rescue recovery and fall safety through regular briefings held to ensure that safety remains in the forefront of their daily routine.
