Time taken to process the data and convert it into a clean and structured form
Another process that will be optimized by a big margin is the data scrubbing and grouping
process. This process currently takes a 5 hours to complete as the data had to be manually
cleaned by using Excel by the employees at the Clinic. Now the process takes less than 2
seconds. This metric also enables swit low as the reduction in processing time leads to aster
transmission o data.
Number of errors in the billing data
The number o errors will be reduced to almost nothing ater the system is implemented. !ince
the process becomes automated" there will no longer be any human error in#ol#ed. This makes
the process more even as there will not be any #ariation in $uality. %nitially there were
approximately &' errors in the data e#ery billing cycle. Ater this sprint the number o errors will
be close to '.
Waiting time for the billing analyst
(ight now the billing analyst has to wait about ) hours or the data to be manually processed and
uploaded by the employees who are in charge o the data cleaning process. Ater !print *" this
waiting time is no longer a concern and is eliminated making the process swift .
Throughput of data files
The throughput o the process will increase ater the system is implemented in !print * as the
process is automated. Now three iles are generated simultaneously" one or the patients billed in
the current week" one or patients not billed and a master ile containing inormation about all the
patients when they are billed. These iles can be generated in a shorted period o time and the
number o times these iles are generated can be calculated using a counter on the website to
keep track o this metric.
