METHOD OF HAJJ

8 Zilhajj to 13 Zilhajj

Starting from Makkah

Dates of Hajj

Pilgrim must be in Ihraam condition What is Iharaam?• Obligatory to come into Ihraam condition• Preferably should take bath, otherwise ablution • Men should wear two sheets of unstitched cloth preferably white• Should perform two Rakaat of Nafil prayers and make intention of Hajj.• Men cannot cover their head now.

• Women should wear their normal clothes.• All pilgrims must follow certain restrictions after Ihraam. For example: hair, nails cannot be trimmed Killing animals and hunting is not allowed• Women should keep face open or at least no cloth should touch the face.

After Ihraam, the pilgrim should start his journey from Makkah to Mina.

He may get to Mina at any time on 8 Zilhajj

8 Zilhajj

10 ZilhajjGo to MinaIn Mina• Should throw 7 pebbles on big satan

ARAFAAT

9 ZilhajjGoing to Arafaat• Obligatory to go to Arafaat• Should stay until Maghrib prayer• Should present his supplications and dua since it is the day of the acceptance of dua.• Should not perform his Maghrib prayer in Arafaat

MUZDALIFAH

9 Zilhajj eveningGo to MuzdalifahIn Muzdalifah• Perform Maghrib and Isha prayers• Should collect around 70 pebbles for rituals in Mina • should spend night without any shelter

Now the pilgrim should perform the following rituls between 10 to 12 Zilhajj but as soon as possible• Present sacrifice of animal• For men, it is better to shave their head• For women, to trim a small part of hair• Pilgrim is free from Ihraam condition.

TAWAF E ZIYARAT

The pilgrim must go to Makkah to perform Tawaf e Ziyarrat

Tawaf e Ziyarat is obligatory upon the pilgrim

After tawf e Ziyarat, the pilgim should come back to Mina and stay there until Maghrib prayers on 12 Zilhajj

On 11 and 12 Zilhajj, the pilgrim should throw 7 pebbles on big satan7 pebbles on middle satan7 pebbles on small satan

On the Maghrib time of 12 Zilhajj, the pilgrimage is complete, the pilgrim will come back to Makkah

If the pilgrim wants to stay in Mina on 13 Zilhajj, they can. This is Nafil (optional) worship. However he will throw 7+7+7 pebbles on three satans.
