EXAMINATIONS FOR THE METALLIFEROUS MINES
MANAGER’S/ SURVEYOR’S/ FOREMAN’S CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY - 2010
UNDER THE METALLIFEROUS MINES REGULATIONS, 1961
The Chairman, Board of Mining Examinations and Director General
of Mines Safety, Dhanbad is holding examinations in October, 2010
(a) at Sitarampur, Ajmer and Hyderabad centers for Mine Manager’sand Surveyor’s Certificate of Competency (both Restricted and Un-
restricted type), (b) at Dhanbad, Ajmer, Nagpur, Bhubaneswar,
Hyderabad and Sitarampur centers for Foreman’s Certificate of Competency (both Restricted and Un-restricted), under the
Metalliferous Mines Regulations, 1961. The brief particulars of examinations are as under:

practica l experience in mines as prescribed under Regulat ion 15,
16 (amended on 5th
November, 2001) & 17 of the Metalliferous
Mines Regulations, 1961 read with relevant bye-laws and whodoes not hold valid First Aid, Mate’s and Gas-testing certificate
unless exempted otherwise. The validity of First Aid certificate
should extend to a date, which is not earlier than the date of theexamination. No provisional certificate shall be accepted.
Practical experience prescribed under Regulation 16 & 17 of the
Metalliferous Mines Regulations, 1961 and conditions attached
therewith under relevant bye-laws are as below:

Note: Candidates are required to mention the scheme and name and
number of paper(s) he wishes to appear in. Application forms should
specifically be obtained from the office of THE DIRECTOR OF
MINES SAFETY (EXAM) & SECRETARY, BOARD OF MINING
EXAMINATIONS, DHANBAD by sending a self-addressed
envelope (size 10 cm x 22 cm) or can be downloaded from theWebsite www.dgms.gov.in. Every application form should be
accompanied by: (i) The prescribed form duly filled in with recent
attested passport size photographs affixed at the space provided therein. (ii) DULY ATTESTED PHOTOCOPIES OF ALL
CERTIFICATES SHALL BE SUBMITTED. HOWEVER,
MEDICAL, CHARACTER AND PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE,WHICH SHALL BE SUBMITTED IN ORIGINAL ONLY. Other
original Certificates/documents shall be required only at the time of
ORAL EXAMINATIONS. (iii) Two self-addressed stamped (Rs.25/-
each) envelopes of size 22 cm x 10 cm enclosing four additional passport size attested photographs. THE APPLICATIONS WILL BE
RECEIVED BY REGISTERED POST ONLY AND NOT BY
HAND/ PERSONAL DELIVERY. Applications, which are not INPRESCRIBED FORM, not properly filled in, and are not
accompanied by the required documents, shall stand rejected. All old
and new candidates must submit all required documents along withthe application to avoid rejection. NO DOCUMENT SHALL BE
ACCEPTED LATER. Application form along with all required
certificates/ documents should be sent to THE DIRECTOR OF
MINES SAFETY(EXAM) & SECRETARY, BOARD OF
MINING EXAMINATIONS, DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF
MINES SAFETY, DHANBAD-826001 (JHARKHAND) BY
REGISTERED POST ONLY SO AS TO REACH ON OR
BEFORE 02.08.2010.

similar examinations shall mention the ID. No.and Roll No. with the year of last examinationwithout fail.
