WINE LIST 2012

Cava producers from the Spain’s Levante region are gaining in prominence each year, with the likes of Pago de

Tharsys at the forefront of the market. 2005 still remains the benchmark year when they were voted ‘Best Cava

in Spain’ but since then the bodega has grown in sophistication creating some truly superb blends The style is

more floral and creamy than ever with Brut still the best selling category but Rosé sales continuing to do

extremely well.

sea. Cold nights and hot days make for full bodied, well structured wines such as those produced by up and

A growing number of the 100+ producers that make up D.O. Utiel-Requena have, over the last few years, tamed

the unruly Bobal grape that dominates the region and are beginning to create some remarkably innovative and

balanced wines. The high altitude and Mediterranean influence give growers huge flexibility to create powerful

mature blends. Volumes are on the increase as is consistency.

D.O. La Mancha, the largest controlled growing area in the world, is undoubtedly still synonymous with high yields

and mass production. However, it is a philosophy that in some areas is beginning to shift as,very good vintages in
