2015 Projects

s the 2015 year is coming to a close the Board of

Trustees would like to share with our Congregation

projects for our church that have been completed andothers that are still ongoing If you have any questions

regarding any of the projects please feel free to ask

anyone on the Board of Trustees Members on the Board

include Don Gruenewald Dave Babel Linda Robb David

Townsend Charlie Lee Gary Beahan Mark Pease and

Kathy Carson Our main goal as the Board of Trustees

is to oversee maintain and supervise all local church

property so it is a safe friendly and welcoming place for

our community to worship in

bull 2 Connector exterior doors repaired on parking lot side

bull Broken window in CLC replaced

bull 2 CLC bathroom doors on rst oor converted tohandicap accessible doors

bull Discovery Days preschool room W6 had ramp installed

for emergency evacuation purposes

bull Kitchen serving window installed on 3rd oor for youthbull New carpet installed in W6 music room

bull New gutter downspouts for entire historical church

building installed and repaired

bull Vestibule area entrance from main doors of church

being re-plastered and re-painted from water damage

bull Dirt amp railroad ties removed from playground area

bull Remodeled Bridal Room

bull Purchased and installed new dead bolt lock for 2nd

oor handicap bathroombull Purchased new ramp in Sanctuary

bull Sealed cracks on parking lot area

bull Outside walls of CLC building cleaned and sealed

bull Renumbered classrooms for Whittler Hall

bull Purchased new outside storage shed for golf cart

bull Painting done in stairwell going to MPR hallway

outside of MPR stairwell going to 2nd oor ofceboth elevators main hallway outside Whittler Hall

bull New phone system upgrade for entire church

bull Purchased 6 new light weight tables

bull 26 speakers in Sanctuary were repaired

bull Built new table holders for bell choir area

bull Working on cleaning out and organizing boiler room

and CLC storage room 112

bull Had tuck pointing done above main doors of church on

9th street side

bull Had all the HVAC systems for the entire church

inspected and repairedbull Had all re extinguishers inspected for entire buildingbull Repaired outside light xtures on front of churchbull Had roof leaks repaired on historical part of church

bull Repaired and replaced storm sewer drains outside

building along sidewalks

Illnesses amp the NurseryA reminder that children who have been ill should be

symptom-free for at least 24 hours before attending the

nursery In the interest of keeping everyone as healthy

as possible please understand that nursery caregivers

will notify parents to pick up a child who has diarrhea

vomiting fever or excessive coughing or nasal discharge

Turning Point 2016 Calendar

Jane Mudd an art professor on the faculty at Williams

Woods University in Fulton spent considerable time

this past summer at Turning Point getting to know and

producing a series of painted portraits of some of thefolks she met there You might have seen the portraits on

display at the performances of ldquoA Night at the Shelterrdquo in

November They will be on display at the Boone County

Historical Society galleries in early 2016 In addition to

being generous with her time on this project Jane has

graciously allowed Turning Point to put together a 2016

calendar incorporating 15 of the paintings as a fundraiser

A sample is in the church ofce The cost is $25 andbenets Turning Point an organization run by Wilkes BlvdUMC that provides services with dignity and hope for

Columbians experiencing homelessness

Turning Point 2016 Calendar

Jane Mudd an art professor on the faculty at Williams

Woods University in Fulton spent considerable time

this past summer at Turning Point getting to know and

producing a series of painted portraits of some of thefolks she met there You might have seen the portraits on

display at the performances of ldquoA Night at the Shelterrdquo in

November They will be on display at the Boone County

Historical Society galleries in early 2016 In addition to

being generous with her time on this project Jane has

graciously allowed Turning Point to put together a 2016

calendar incorporating 15 of the paintings as a fundraiser
