An international event which gather the geothermal community each 5 years: 1500delegates from more than 90 countries

• Up to 12 concurrent sessions were held on a variety of topics. Session topics included: Reservoir modelling, Geology, Geophysics, Drilling, Environmental, Direct use, Business strategies, International collaboration, etc.

• Six short courses were held • Five field trips were conducted in Australia and New Zealand.

With the Melbourne Declaration the global geothermal community asks for more support from governments, financial institutions and political decision makers and emphasizes the importance of human resource development, knowledge transfer, policy development and the respect of indigenous peoples.
