Cynthia Schwab with Rodan + Fields, Larry Knauer with Adaptive Adventures and Kristin Slater with Scentsy. After joining the Erie County Chamber of Commerce (ECCOC) the Home Based Business (HBB) will be able to take part in the pilot program. The Home Based Business Program is developed specifically for a one-person Home Based Business. The Erie County Chamber researched and found several different Home Based Businesses in our area and saw an opportunity to mentor, help develop their brand, and provide advertising and marketing to help the Home Based Business entrepreneur turn their small Home Based Business into a full time career. The Home Based Business Program will consist of meeting at the Chamber once a month. The Chamber will teach these entrepreneurs how to develop a relationship with other Home Based Businesses and network with them. The Chamber will bring in special speakers from time to time to talk on a specific business or education topic. Each Home Based Business will join the Erie County Chamber of Commerce for $175 and will be eligible to take part in any Chamber programs. As part of the Chamber’s Home Based Business Program, they will be able to purchase a yearlong Banner Ad on the Chamber’s website for $99 to market and create awareness of their business. The Home Based Business can also take advantage of our Marketplace Feature to promote their coupons. As a member of the Chamber in good standing, the Home Based Businesses can request a Member Certificate to display in their home office, at craft shows or events. There will be opportunities to take part in a Chamber Home Based Business events to sell their products and services to the public. Volume: 119 Number: 15

Better Business Bureau Alert: 50flashsale.com isn’t what it seems!

“The BBB is warning consumers not to order anything from 50flashsale.com. In the past two weeks, BBB received 16 Scam Tracker reports and over 20 complaints about the website.

BBB investigators looked into this website and discovered the phone number listed is a non-working number, the registered email address bounced back, and the address is the University at Buffalo’s South Campus. University officials confirmed to BBB that there is no such business operating on their property.”
