THE WISE MEN’S PERSPECTIVE from the “Christmas Perspectives” sermon series – pt. 3 of 3
Scripture: Matthew 2:1-12
SIX PARTS OF WORSHIP THAT WE LEARN FROM THE WISE MEN ...
1. Start with a __________________________ (2:1)
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem
2. Develop an ____________________________ (2:2)
and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
3. Choose to _____________________________ (2:10)
When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.
4. Decide to _____________________________ (2:11a)
On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.
5. Plan to _____________________________ (2:11b)
Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
They gave Him gold: they recognized him as a __________________: give Him your _______________
They gave Him frankincense: they recognized Him as a ________________: give Him your ________________ They gave Him myrrh: they recognized Him as
__________________: give Him your _______________
6. End with an _____________________________ (2:12)
And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod,
they returned to their country by another route.

‘Tis the season to be reading! There ‘snow’ better place than the library to
get wrapped up in a good book this Christmas.
LOVE OFFERING
We are thankful for the pastors and staff here at Woodvale who minister
to us. The deacons of the church board would like to give you an
opportunity to express your appreciation to the pastors and staff through a
special offering this month. You can participate by enclosing a donation in an
offering envelope and marking it as "Love Offering". This will be collected up
to and including Dec. 20. Thank you.
MISSION FOCUS - Tim & Sandra Smith (Papua, Indonesia)
Please pray for Tim and the other pilots that they would navigate the
weather and the mountains. The rain that they have been getting makes it
more challenging for the pilots, although they are grateful for the rain.
Please pray that Sandra will have creativity and patience with the kids that
she interacts with. Pray that Helen will be able to study and write her final
exams. They are thankful that Jonathan will be joining them for Christmas.
Pray that he will have smooth connections and will be able to arrive safely
