The students are off to their internships, summer school classes, and family holidays, but last weekend I received their final reflective writing assignments. In reading some of them, I was once again reminded of how vital the learning experience is for the students, and how much our visit with you played an integral role in their overall experience. I am awed not only by the fact that you were both willing to meet with us based on my out-of-the blue message to Stiaan back in April but also that it was such an informative and transparent interaction. The debriefing discussion we had as a class the evening after we met with you was deep, thoughtful, and transformative. Thank you again for your hospitality and time. It’s more meaningful to me and the students than I think you can really know. And, Stiaan, I am so grateful to you for being willing to set us up with Alex. Perhaps we’ll have the opportunity to meet in person soon. I hope you won’t be too bothered if I seek again next year to capitalize on a bit of your time and generosity.
