Both can be remotely accessed using SSH for crypto and Remote Desktop for vindaloo

Logistics-ComputersOffice computersFour other Linux “terminals”, two in F137, two in F139, running Debian Linux.

Terminals are networked directly to crypto: “home” directories (by last name) on all machines are actually on crypto, e.g., /home/chandra.

Also, /pub directory on crypto is also accessible from all 4 computers

/pub is a repository for group public files: purchase orders, presentations, important papers, collaborative work

If you need to install software, printers, etc., go ahead and do it!

Important ones: SEM, SPM, optical microscope, 3 lab data acquisition computers.

Domain is controlled by an aging domain server, “Salsa,” in FG17.

Some printers also have permanent IP addresses:Bibimbop, godzilla, etc (thank Joe Aumentado)

located in the sub-basement FB14 running Linux Debian for workgroups One server gateway, 1.5 GHz 9 computing nodes, 2.8 GHz Pentium D’s or 3.2 GHz Celerons.
