New MERS Radio Procedure

To inform the members of the new procedure for contact the MACC, South Buffalo Mercy and

Kenmore Mercy Hospital.

Page 2: MERS Procedure

Make sure the “400mghz” or Hamburg Fire” radio is on. If not, turn it on. Usually come on when the Ambulance is turned on.

Place the radio on “Interop2” as seen in the photo, using the “up” channel button. It is only 7 clicks away from “Ham F-1”.

EMS attendant will use this handset, labeled like this in the back of the ambulance to call MERS and make the report. Again, the only hospitals on this are MACC, South Buffalo Mercy and Kenmore Mercy Hospital.

When through with the report, press the “home” button to return to “Ham F-1”.

DO NOT USE MERS 340 TO CALL THESE HOSPITALS (MACC, South Buffalo Mercy and Kenmore Mercy Hospital), MERS WILL GET UPSET.

All other hospitals are still on the MERS radio in the back. When these change and BTVFC gets notified, it will be relayed to you.
