On August 26, at approx. 7am, MerrittRCMP responded to a report that a 21-year old local man had been attacked bya group of unknown males while he waswalking along Nicola Ave. The group isdescribed as: 4 males in their late 20s,

wearing ball caps with two of them inhoodies and one in a black t-shirt. Thegroup asked the victim a question, thenpunched him in the back of his head ashe walked away. One male in particular,wearing a yellow Pittsburgh Pirates hat,

black t-shirt, blue jeans and weighing ap-proximately 220lbs pulled out a pocketknife and slashed the victim on the chest.The victim was treated in hospital forminor injuries. Merritt RCMP executed a search warrantin the 1800 block of Blair St., as part of a

street-level drug trafficking investiga-tion. Two local males and a male fromKelowna were found inside the residenceand were arrested. They were each sub-sequently released on a Promise To Ap-pear. A quantity of cocaine and morphinewas seized from the residence, and otheritems related to drug trafficking, as wellas several weapons. Once the investiga-tion is complete, charges for PossessionFor The Purpose of Trafficking are ex-pected to be laid.
