Jonas graduated from Copenhagen Business School, with a masters degree in business administration and commercial law in 2011. Jonas joined the Corporate/M&A department of the Danish lawfirm Horten in 2011, where he advised a full range of international clients, including public entities and utility suppliers.

In 2014, Jonas joined RiskPoint’s new W&I team as one of first three members. Here, he helped establish the team which since grew both in size and across several jurisdictions. Having initially focused on the Scandinavian region, Jonas subsequently became engaged in transactions in the DACH and Benelux regions as well.

Jonas joined Ironshore in 2018 and continues to underwrite Scandinavian transactions, as well as other Northern European business. He is native in Danish and has bilingual proficiency in Norwegian and Swedish.

Before joining Ironshore in 2017, Markus spent more than six years as a qualified lawyer in the corporate department of international law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy. He advised across the full range of private equity as well as corporate M&A transactions.

Markus graduated from the University of Hanover, Germany (1.Staatsexamen). While obtaining his doctoral degree from the University of Hanover, he was a Visiting Scholar at Northwestern University, Chicago. Aude joined the Paris office of King and Wood Mallesons (SJ Berwin) in 2011 into the M&A/Private Equity team where she focused on acquisitions and divestments of companies for French and foreign private equity funds and investors.

In 2013, Aude joined AIG as a senior underwriter in Paris and product leader for the France-Benelux zone. She spent several months in London with the UK team underwriting warranty and indemnity insurance on European M&A transactions. Aude joined Ironshore’s M&A team in November 2015.

Samuel graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BSC in Commerce and completed a Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at BPP in London. Samuel focused on Private and Public M&A transactions in various sectors including real estate and technology, with a number of those transactions being W&I insured.

Dave graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2009 with a Postgraduate LLB and became a qualified attorney in South Africa in the beginning of 2012. Dave joined the Hogan Lovells Corporate/Commercial department in 2010 where he had a particular focus on telecoms and mining related M&A transactions before moving to Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs (ENSAfrica) in 2012. While at ENSAfrica, which is South Africa’s most prestigious and largest law firm, Dave’s main practice areas included M&A, corporate governance and black empowerment.

In 2014, Dave moved to London and joined DLA Piper where he worked as a Corporate Associate and concentrated on real estate, technology and Africa-focused transactions within the M&A (mostly private), joint ventures and private equity practice areas. William has worked at Weil Gotshal and Manges, Allen & Overy and at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Benn is a mergers and acquisitions insurance underwriter based in Ironshore’s Singapore office. Benn covers the Asia-Pacific region as part of a team of underwriters operating out of Sydney, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

Benn is a qualified solicitor (England & Wales) and graduate of Cambridge University with 10 years of experience in M&A, mostly in the Asia-Pacific region. He started his career in London as a corporate M&A lawyer with Ashurst LLP in 2006 before moving with Ashurst to Tokyo and then to Singapore, where he has lived for the last six years. After leaving Ashurst and before joining Ironshore, Benn spent two years with a telecommunications company as an M&A adviser for the Asia-Pacific region.

In recent years, Benn has spent a significant amount of time in Indonesia and Myanmar working on telecommunications projects and venture capital investments. Since joining Ironshore as an underwriter, Benn has been involved with several large multi-jurisdictional transactions underwriting risks across the Asia-Pacific region.

Prior to Aon, James practised as a Private Equity/M&A lawyer at Weil, Gotshal & Manges and at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. James also spent nearly six years in the Investment Banking division of Citi, where he was a Director and EMEA COO of M&A and TMT Banking.

Having studied law at the University of East Anglia and The University of Law, James started his career in London and Brussels at Nabarro Nathanson (now CMS), where he also undertook a secondment to Lehman Brothers.

James has extensive experience working with various private equity funds and corporates across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific and brings a deep knowledge of M&A transactions and strong strategy and leadership skills.

Based in Ironshore’s Miami office, Cristina leads the M&A Insurance effort in Latin America and the Caribbean and is part of the Americas Mergers & Acquisition team.

She joined Ironshore in 2014 in order to develop Specialty Lines across the Latin American and Caribbean regions, and was responsible for the Professional Lines, Financial Institutions and Political Risk businesses. She also helped implement new lines across the region such as Residual Value Insurance and Agriculture.

Prior to joining the insurance market, Cristina spent 13 years at Goldman Sachs, initially in the United Kingdom and later in Spain. During her tenure, she specialized in offering tailored solutions both on the Securities and the Asset Management Division, targeting clients across the Institutional as well as High Net Worth spaces. Throughout her career at Goldman Sachs, Cristina focused predominantly on the Iberian and Latin American markets.

Cristina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Comillas-ICADE (Madrid, Spain), and was awarded a scholarship at ESSEC Business School (Paris, France). She collaborated with IE Business School as a guest lecturer for the full-time MBA program, focusing in particular on Global High Yield Markets.

As of January 2018, she transitioned into her new role as the deal coordinator for the Americas Mergers & Acquisitions team. She is based in New York and provides overall support to the team, including policy issuance and administration of subjectivities and submissions. Tom is the head of the Tax Liability Insurance team at Ironshore International with responsibility for underwriting specific tax risks globally. He joined Ironshore in November 2015.

Prior to joining Ironshore, Tom was a partner in the market-leading tax team of international law firm Pinsent Masons LLP, having previously spent 10 years in the tax department of Ashurst LLP. Tom advised on a wide range of UK and international tax matters, specializing in private equity buy-outs, fund formation for private equity, debt and real estate funds, group reorganizations and restructuring. He has worked in a number of consultation groups with HMRC and held memberships in the VAT Practitioners’ Group and the UK Oil Industry Tax Committee.

Tom graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA in Modern History and subsequently obtained a Master of Laws (LLM (Tax)) from King’s College, London.

Rachel joined Ironshore’s Tax Liability Insurance team in June 2017.

Rachel is a UK qualified tax lawyer with over a decade of legal and tax experience. Rachel trained and worked for Nabarro specialising in property tax structuring and M&A transactions before moving in-house to Bank of America Merrill Lynch providing international tax advice including advising on a number of complex multi-jurisdictional restructurings and several large cross-border divestitures. More recently, Rachel was part of the Transaction Risk Insurance team at Tokio Marine HCC.

Rachel holds a law degree from the University of Nottingham and she is a Chartered Tax Adviser.

CLAIMS

Alex is a senior claims adjuster in the Professional and Financial Lines claims team. Prior to joining Ironshore, Alex qualified as a lawyer and spent three years post-qualification working in Mills & Reeve’s insurance disputes team, and then adjusted complex claims in the Financial Lines team at AIG. As well as dealing with a varied caseload of FI, PI and D&O claims, Alex is a dedicated M&A specialist and handles M&A claims for Ironshore and Pembroke across all jurisdictions. Alex has several years of in-depth experience with complex, high value M&A claims and is currently dealing with the largest claim in the London market.
