Gloria is from Arkansas and moved to Collierville two years ago. She immediately found her church home at Saint Andrew’s. She has many years’ experience in the Arkansas public school system and in nursery care and elder care. Welcome, Gloria! A FOND FAREWELL TO FR. DAVID AND FAMILY What a joy and blessing it has been to have Fr. David as our Associate Rector for the last three years, along with his dear family, Susanne and Lucia. Their presence has enriched our parish in countless ways, and they will be missed. Fr. David answered the call to be Associate Rector at St. George’s, so, happily, they will still be our neighbors as they are not moving from Collierville. We’ll look forward to seeing them occasionally. Fr. David’s last day as our Associate Rector is Sunday, July 30. That morning at 9:30 AM, in place of all Sunday school classes, we will honor the Carlettas with a special coffee hour in the parish hall. Mark your calendars and come help send them off to St. George’s with our best wishes and prayers. CHOIR OPEN HOUSE ON AUGUST 13 Do you have a nice singing voice that you are hiding from everyone? Would you like to help grow the choir and join that aspect of Saint Andrew’s ministry and fellowship? You are invited and encouraged to join Jeremy Warner and the choir for lunch and a mini-rehearsal/retreat on Aug 13 in the parish hall after the 10:30 service. OPERATION BACKPACK Once again Saint Andrew’s will help supply around 350 children and youth of Emmanuel Center with backpacks and supplies for school. Setup for the event will be Friday, July 28, and the actual event will be Saturday, July 29. Let Julie or Jill know if you’d like to help. Donations are also accepted – the average cost per student is about $35.00. Make your check to Saint Andrew’s and put “Operation Backpack” on the memo line. Your help is so appreciated.
