No. 4/5 Mercyhurst (17-4-1) at Robert Morris (12-5-2); Robert Morris at Mercyhurst Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 / RMU Island Sports Center - Pittsburgh, Pa. / 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012 / Mercyurst Ice Center - Erie, Pa. / 7:05 p.m. Series at a Glance Overall: 0-28-0 At Home: 0-13-0 At Mercyhurst: 0-12-0 Neutral: 0-3-0 Top Story Head Coach Paul Colontino leads the Colonials against his alma mater for the first time this week- end. Kristen DiCiocco has won CHA Goalie of the Week honors in four straight weeks in which RMU has played. Freshman Rebecca Vint needs two scores to tie Robert Morris’ highest single-season goal total. Robert Morris received votes in the USCHO national rankings Jan. 9. Series vs. Mercyhurst Robert Morris will be looking to exact a measure of revenge against Mercyhurst after the Lakers knocked the Colonials out in the CHA Semifinals a year ago. RMU held the Lakers to a single even-strength goal but two special-teams scores were the difference for Mercyhurst in a 3-1 victory. Despite the defeat, Brianna Delaney had a record-setting day for RMU by notching an assist to break the single-season school record in that category. Delaney has 11 points, including seven goals, in her career against Mercyhurst while Thea Imbrogno also performed well against the Lakers in 2010-11 by registering six points in five games. Scouting Mercyhurst Mercyhurst enters the weekend on a tear as the Lakers are tied for the longest unbeaten streak in the country and have only lost twice in their past 19 outings. Mercyhurst, which sits at No. 5 nationally, is 4-2 this season against other squads which are ranked or receiving votes nationally, including wins over both No. 4 Boston College and No. 3 Cornell. The Lakers rank second across the country in scoring offense, averaging 5.09 goals per game, and also feature the nation’s points per game leader. Senior Bailey Bram has tallied 21 goals and notched 31 assists in just 20 games to average a nation-best 2.6 points per game. Bram leads a quartet of Lakers that all rank among the top 20 nationally in points per game as sophomore Christine Bestland (2.05), senior Jess Jones (1.64) and senior Kelley Steadman (1.5) all follow behind Bram. Mercyhurst has been especially lethal on the power play as the Lakers sport the top unit in the country, converting on over 32 percent of their man-advantage opportunities. Mercyhurst also has a solid base between the pipes as senior Hillary Pattenden has the ninth-highest goals against average nationally (1.91) in over 1100 minutes of action. 2011-12 WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY SCHEDULE Date Opponent Time SEPT. 23 (Fri.)
