OUR TEAM OF EVERYDAY HEROES Mercy’s everyday heroes are a hospital-wide committee that meets every other month to review donation outcomes and identify process improvements. They also have a resource team of ICU nurses who help work with donors and their families, and spread donation awareness throughout the hospital. The team has worked to improve the tissue donation process hospital-wide. Whether it’s the bedside nurse, switchboard operator, surgery or security staff, all are involved and committed to honoring the gift. The superheroes that make up the team at Mercy even supported a donor and his family by letting the donor wear his cape to surgery. These superheroes also hosted their first Donor Remembrance Ceremony in June 2016. MERCY HEALTH SYSTEM Janesville, Wisconsin 16 th Douglas T.
