Gas Barrier Systems

Visqueen Radon Protection System Independently Accredited by BRE Certification Ltd (Certificate Number 083/01) Visqueen Radon Membrane is an unreinforced polyethylene membrane, suitable for use in the protection of buildings from the ingress of Radon gas. Visqueen Radon Membrane will act as an effective passive radon membrane in most typical applications when installed in accordance with manufacturers instructions and will also act as a damp proof membrane. For ease of identification on site, the membrane is coloured red.Size: 25 x 4m

Visqueen Low Permeability Gas MembraneCE Mark to EN 13967Offers a safe solution for the protection of buildings against radon, carbon dioxide and low levels of methane gas when installed in accordance with the relevant codes of practice.

The membrane is supplied in 4m x 12.5 roll and has a centre fold. It is flexible and is easy to install, and is also suitable for use as a damp proof membrane. For ease of identification on site the membrane is coloured yellow. Size: 4 x 12.5m

Geotextiles

SIG Geotechnical Centre provide an extensive range of both woven and non-woven geotextiles from basic separation textiles to high strength reinforcement and protection fabrics.

Geogrids

Geogrids can be provided for use in most buildings and civil engineering applications.


Combigrid

Combigrid is a biaxial Geogrid incorporating a non-woven geotextile. With Combigrid, the geotextile layer is heat-bonded between the lateral and longitudinal grid elements, forming a completely integrated finished product. Combigrids are mainly used in conjunction with soft and low CBR (California bearing ratio) soils where soil reinforcement in conjunction with separation and filtration is required. The main advantages over using separate products are that Combigrid reduces handling, storage and installation time and costs.

Gabions

Gabions and Mattresses offer a fast effective solution for many earth stabilisation problems. Gabion systems are widely used in many applications including retaining walls, erosion control, scour prevention, landscaping and for coastal protection, in applications such as river and sea control. The strength and flexibility of the welded mesh helps with stand and absorb the forces generated by retained earth or water flow.

Erosion Control

SIG Geotechnical Centre offers a full range of both biodegradable and non-biodegradable erosion control matting. The comprehensive range on offer from SIG Geotechnical Centre ensures a cost effective solution to any erosion application you may have.

Envirotrak

Envirotrak is a lightweight high load paving reinforcement system manufactured from recycled plastics with a cellular construction. Envirotrak’s unique interlocking design coupled with high loading strength provides a strong and robust surface. Envirotrak can take loads of up to 350 tonnes per square metre. It is extremely versatile and may be used in a wide range of applications. The interlocking design not only means it is easy to piece together but also stays securely in place when being installed.

Envirotrak can be filled with grass or gravel. When used with top soil and seed a 95% grass covering is provided, giving an aesthetically pleasing natural finish. Alternatively gravel can be used giving a robust and stable base with fast water dispersion, whilst reducing the loss of expensive gravel and preventing rutting and movement. The cell design also allows excellent water dispersion making it an ideal product for areas prone to flooding, and can also be used as part of a SUDS system (sustainable urban drainage system). Demarcation blocks are also available as infills on the Envirotrak. Perfect for directing traffic or marking out areas such as car parking spaces.

Hychairs A TypeA welded girder for supporting reinforcement or fabric without damaging the polythene membrane. Hychairs are also ideal for dowel bar support. Supplied in 2m lengths, pack size 50m. Maximum advised spacing 1m. Suggested usage 10m/sheet.Available in sizes 50mm - 300mm

Circular Wire SpacersAn economical way of supporting top steel in slabs, the hoops are formed into a 1m diameter circle. 4/5 hoops per standard full size sheet of mesh are normally sufficient.Available in sizes 50mm - 200mm in 3m lengths

Alti-Spacer Alti-Spacer is a welded snake wire spacer for supporting reinforcement of fabric, which is stronger than normal high chair and circular spacers, making it extremely reliable and safe on site. Alti-Spacer is easy to handle and requires no tying so is extremely quick to set up on site. Available in sizes 50mm - 200mmPack of 20

It ensures that all re-bars are covered in long runs quickly, tightly and safely to protect workers on site. Alti-Shield’s unique gripping teeth design makes it suitable for use on both horizontal and vertical reinforcing bars for 8mm to 40mm without any additional fixing. Size: 1m length

Alti-Shield Max Alti-Shield Max has a 1.5mm thick metal strip running down the spine of the protector to prevent the reinforcing bar piercing the protector should a worker fall from height.Size: 1m length

Protection CapsProtection Caps have been developed to protect workers from the serious injury that starter bars can cause. Large size suitable for scaffold bars.

Tie Bar System

15mm Thru-Tie SystemA quick release 15mm tie system. The bar is supplied in 6m lengths. 20 & 26mm tie bar also available as well as bespoke lengths.

Wing Nuts & Waler PlatesA knock-on wing nut used in conjunction with waler plates for securing the bar in formwork applications. Can also be supplied for 20mm and 26mm tie bars. 100 per bag but supplied individually.

Connection NutsJoint nuts are used to join the rods complete with centre stop to ensure equal spacing inside the connector. The shorter hexnut is available for use where access is restricted. A connection nut with a built in water barrier is also available.

Thruty SleeveThruty sleeve is a rigid PVC tube of 2mm wall thickness, supplied in 2 metre lengths which can easily be cut to the required size. It is used as an expendable sleeve over tie bolts, facilitating their removal and also acting as a spacer to ensure correct width of wall.Inside Diameter size: 22mmOutside Diameter size: 26mm

Alti-Form Alti-Form is a compact beamform sheet which maintains the strength of traditional formwork and other proprietary systems but without the bulk. The reduced size means that cutting and wastage on site is minimal. Clayboard®

Clayboard® is a unique, environmentally friendly void former and foundation stabiliser. Clayboard® is a biodegradable honeycomb core set between lightweight polypropylene facings. Sizes: Clayboard® is supplied in panels 2440mm long by 1000mm wide, by the specified thickness. Clayboard® is delivered to site on lightweight pads for easy unloading and is polythene wrapped for protection. Thickness depends on the depth of the required void which should be specified by the soil engineers taking into account the plasticity index.

Circular Concrete Column FormersLight-weight, easy to set and strip, even in the wet. Standard sections are available ex-stock at selected branches. Specials can be made to order.Available in Diameters: 150 - 1200mmAvailable as lined or unlined depending on finish required on concrete.

Metal Formwork Hy-Rib®

Hy-Rib® Permanent Formwork Expamet Hy-Rib® is an expanded metal sheet product, specifically developed for use as permanent formwork to concrete.

Alti-Mesh has 200mm edge overhang, as opposed to Standard A fabrics with a 100mm edge overhang. Couplers

MBT CouplersThe MBT range of couplers provides a cost-effective method of joining reinforcing bars. They are easyto install. Neither bar end preparation to form threads, nor bar rotation are required. MBT couplers canalso be used to join imperial, plain round or deformed reinforcing bars. When the pre-determined tightening torque for the bolts is reached, the heads shear off leaving the top of the installed bolt slightly proud of the coupler. This provides an instant visual check of correct installation.

MBT ET Series CouplersET series couplers are used to connect reinforcing bars of the same size. They can be used when neither bar can be rotated and are available in sizes 10mm to 40mm.

Hyload DPC Fixing StripThe Fixing Strip is a semi- rigid plastic strip 25mm x 3mm x 2m pre-drilled at 150mm centres. For surface fixing any Hyload high performance DPC to the inner leaf.

Hyload DPC Fixing PinsUsed with Hyload DPC Fixing Strip, Fixing Pins for Masonry can be used for surface fixing to solid internal substrates such as blockwork, stone and concrete. Composite inner skins require Hyload DPC Fixing Pins for Insulation to ensure correct fixing.

Hyload DPC Jointing TapeA double sided self adhesive bituminous tape, 10m x 100mm, for bonding DPC to DPC, and DPC to pre-formed cloak units. Before use, ensure that surfaces to be bonded are clean and dry.

Zedex CPT Jointing TapeAll joints in lengths of DPC must be a minimum of 100mm, lapped and bonded using Zedex Jointing Tape.Size: 100mm x 15mm

Zedex CPT Fixing Strip and PinsWhen surface fixing or post fixing to the cavity face of the inner leaf, a fixing strip should be used. Alti-FleeceAlti-Fleece is a lightweight but strong material that has a central waterproof section and reinforced edges with slits for tethering. It is installed as the outer brickwork and inner blockwork is built up. Suitable for external cavities from 50mm - 175mm.

Timber Frame Cavity Barrier 551Provides up to 2 hours fire performance with a minimum of 1 hour, the polythene enclosed non-combustible rockfibre barrier is manufactured in bespoke sizes to suit the specified cavity width and is installed under compression. It is stapled to the inner timber sheathing before the brickwork is built up. Suitable for external cavities from 50mm-175mm.

Linear Firestop Strip 553 & 554Rectangular strips of non-combustible rockfibre to provide up to four hours firestopping at the junctions of compartment walls and floors. Firestop Strips are manufactured to order for voids of 10mm-100mm and the maximum void size that can be filled is 50% of the wall width.


Acoustic Party Wall DPC557 Helps reduce flanking sound transmission at the junction of internal separating and external cavity walls and is protected by its integral dpc. The product consists of tissue faced rockfibre slab laminated to black polyethylene dpc.

Acoustic Party Wall DPC557 provides 60 minutes fire resistance to BS 476 Part 20:1987 and meets the requirements of 2003 Approved Document E (Sound Resistance) and Robust Details Part E.Suitable for external cavities from 50mm-150mm

AIM Wall Cavity Fire BarrierHigh density foil-faced rockfibre slab intended for installation within masonry wall applications and is capable of providing up to 4 hours fire performance within cavities up to 600mm in overall width. The barrier is available in either full slabs to be cut on site or in a pre-manufactured section to suit the desired cavity width.

AIM Cavity Fire Closer Rockfibre section bonded to a DPC layer which is intended for installation at blockwork return reveals within masonry wall applications. Cavity Fire Closer complies with Part E of the Building Regulations. and provides up to 60 minutes fire performance.

AIM Fire Stop Strip AIM Fire Stop Strip is a high density mineral fibre strip which provides a fire and acoustic barrier when positioned within linear voids in masonry wall applications.
