Anuban Weekly Outline Sitapatr School Teacher: Mike and Sarah Class: MEP 3 - Week:17 Dates: 23/02/15- 27/02/15 This week we are learning: Living and non-living things (2) Circle Time Review This week we are going to continue with the topic of ‘living and non-living things.’ We will practice this vocabulary by playing some games, such as the ‘clap, clap’ game, the aim being for the class to be able to read, spell, pronounce and understand each word as well as the Activity Time Activities and worksheets: This week we are going to make a ‘Living and non-living presentation display that will show things that re living and non-living. This will go up on the wall so that the class can see it. The class will be asked to find images at home of living and non-living things for this display. We are going to explore the school and identify living and non-living things in the grounds. This week we will also do a spelling test on the following words: living, non-living, move, grow, breathe, eat, senses, young. Sentence structure: “Is it a living or non-living thing?” “It is a living thing/non-living thing.” Games : We are going to use the flashcards for the focus topics to play games such as ‘splat,’ ‘duck, duck, goose’ and ‘flashcard Phonics New (letters/sounds/vocabulary) No new letters, sounds or vocabulary will be taught this week as the children will be reviewing in preparation for their test. All three letter words to be reviewed are listed in the phonics section. For activity the new words are: Living, non-living, alive, dead, live, die. Review In phonics the children will be reviewing all of the three letter words learnt so far in units 1, 2 and 3 of the new Oxford Phonics World 2 books. This will include a total of 36 key words from 11 word families. They are as follows: Cat, ant, yak, ax Ram, jam, yam, dam Fan, man, pan, can Dad, pad, rag, bag Cap, map, nap, tap Bat, rat, hat, mat Web, egg, vet, ten Jet, net, wet, pet Writing Practice The children will continue with their handwriting book. This week we are learning: Living and non-living things (2)Circle Time Review

This week we are going to continue with the topic of ‘living and non-living things.’ We will practice this vocabulary by playing some games, such as the ‘clap, clap’ game, the aim being for the class to be able to read, spell, pronounce and understand each word as well as the concept of what makes something living or non-living.In circle we will play a game of word family fly swat. There are 11 different word families that have been covered so far, so this will be a great review.

Activity Time

Activities and worksheets:This week we are going to make a ‘Living and non-living presentation display that will show things that re living and non-living. Phonics

New (letters/sounds/vocabulary)No new letters, sounds or vocabulary will be taught this week as the children will be reviewing in preparation for their test. All three letter words to be reviewed are listed in the phonics section.For activity the new words are: Living, non-living, alive, dead, live, die.Breath, breathing, air. Eat, food, drink, water.Animals, plants and people are living things.Mountains, buildings etc are non-living things.

ReviewIn phonics the children will be reviewing all of the three letter words learnt so far in units 1, 2 and 3 of the new Oxford Phonics World 2 books. This week’s sight words are: eat, drink, grow, move, young, offspring.
