Students will use their imagination to design, build and program their robots to accomplish specific tasks. They will discover the Engineering Design Process in a real work setting as they test and improve the performance of their robots. Through these engaging hands-on activities they will develop intuitive and fundamental skills.

Robotics: RoboGames: The RoboGames curriculum is designed to introduce students to the world of not only building, but alsoprogramming basic robots. In this unit, students will design their robots to play games.

Robotics: Rescue Robots: During the LEGO® Rescue Robots program, students design and program robots to respond to simulated disaster situations such as moving rubble and retrieving targets. Students use LEGO® Robotics and computers to learn principles of robotics, computer programming, and teamwork.

Robotics: Ocean Missions: During the LEGO® Robotics Ocean Missions program, students design and program robots to protect the ocean and ocean life by releasing a dolphin into the ocean, fixing a broken pipeline, and maintaining an oil platform. Students use LEGO® Robotics and computers to learn principles of robotics, computer programming, and teamwork.

Robotics: VEX IQ Global Challenge: Once a year, a challenge is set forth to be completed by the designs of VEX IQ teams all over the world. In this class, students will form teams within the class to design, build, program and operate their own robot to complete these challenges.

ER Software Engineering - Scratch Video Sensing: What’s more fun than playing an interactive video game? Writing one! Video sensing allows students to design and program their own video games and then test them by interacting with the program via webcam. In this Scratch program, students work together to create their own games, art, and musical instruments while exploring coding foundations. Get up and get moving with Engineering for Kids and Scratch: Video Sensing!

Survivor: Engineer’s Cove: Welcome to Survivor: Engineer’s Cove! Students in this five-day program will find themselves stranded on anabandoned island filled with perilous obstacles – dark caves, wild animals, cold temperatures, little food, and separation from the comforts of home. They will work collaboratively with their tribe members to compete against other tribes in specific engineering-related projects aimed at trying to survive the harsh island conditions and escape to their freedom. The tribe with the most points at the end of the week will claim the honor of Survivor: Engineer’s Cove winner!

Sail the Seas: Avast, me maties! Hop aboard and join the crew as students work together to design a ship, sail the sea and be the first to find buried treasure. During this week, students will explore the ideas of buoyancy and surface area as they design their pirate ships, set sail, and retrieve sunken the treasure! So what do you say; Are ye’ ready to sail the seas?

The Engineering of Food: Everyone has to eat, and engineers are involved in all the steps of getting food from a farm to your table. Engineers help figure out how to make food, how to package it, and how to deliver it to your table. During this program, students will form a team to work as a sweets company, making tasty treats such as ice cream and cookies while competing against their classmates. They will engineer the best solutions possible each day to beat their opponent companies to earn extra sweets for being the winning company of the day. At the end of the week, the best sweets company will be awarded the Engineering For Kids Baker’s Choice Award and students will be able to take home the sweets they earned during the week.

Wreck-It Week: Smash! Crash! BOOM! Students in this program will join Wrecking Companies for the week and will attempt to work their way up the ranks of their company from Intern to President. They will compete against other wrecking companies in various engineering-related challenges, such as building a bridge from balsa wood and constructing safety mechanisms to protect a raw egg from impact. Put on your hard hats and safety goggles and join the fun!
