Beowulf, the nephew of king Hygelac, hears of Grendel’s tyranny and sails to Denmark to
kill the monster, to help Hrothgar.

He killed the dragon but was mortally wounded himself and died.
With his death he renstablished peace in Rothgar’s reign.
