Greeting

Penitential Act

I confess to almighty God and to you my brothers and sisters that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done, and in what I have failed to do; through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary, ever Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you my brothers and sisters to pray for me to the Lord our God.

May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.

℟. Amen.

The Liturgy of the Word

First Reading: Gal 6:14-18

Brothers and sisters: May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. For neither does circumcision mean anything, nor does uncircumcision, but only a new creation. Peace and mercy be to all who follow this rule and to the Israel of God. From now on, let no one make troubles for me; for I bear the marks of Jesus on my body. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen.

Palabra de Dios.

℟. Te alabamos Señor.

Responsorial Psalm: Tu es, Domine – Ps 16:1-2a and 5, 7-8, 11

1. Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the LORD, “You are my Lord.” O LORD, it is you who are my portion and cup; you yourself who secure my lot.

3. You will show me the path of life, the fullness of joy in your presence, at your right hand, bliss for ever.

2. I will bless the Lord who gives me counsel, who even at night directs my heart. I keep the LORD before me always, with him at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Mt 11:25

℣. Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth; you have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the Kingdom.

℟. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia! Music: Festival Alleluia, James Chepponis © 1999, Morning Star Music Publishers.

Gospel: Mt 11:25-30

(Español en la página 7)At that time Jesus answered: "I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.

"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light." The Gospel of the Lord.

℟. Praise to you, Lord

Jesus Christ.

Choral Motet

Prayer of St. Francis Allen Pote (b. 1945)

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, thy pardon, Lord. Where there is doubt, let there be faith.

Oh, Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where there’s despair let me

bring hope. Where there is darkness, let there be light, Where there is sadness, let

there be joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console.

To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.

Oh, Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow

love.

For it is in giving that we receive, and it is in pardoning that we are pardoned.

And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Amen.
