> Stock adequate quantity of medicines, lifesaving drugs, disinfectants, vaccines, inoculations and chlorination equipment

> To be ready for prevention of outbreak of epidemics > All PHCs, CHCs to be equipped with First Aid Medicine and treatment for

snake bite > Ensure availability of adequate doctors, trained personnel, medical stores

and equipment for movement at short notice to vulnerable areas. > Plan of additional space for extra beds in hospitals/PHCs to be made in

advance. > To Plan for quick transportation of seriously injured and sick person from

disaster areas to specialties hospitals for effective treatment. > To provide 24X7 ambulance services round the clock area-wise in addition

with 108 ambulances > Outsourcing of ambulances from private or any other means to be

explored > To have inventory of ambulances available in Government and other

private sector.

HEAL TH DEPARTMENT (ESF # 2)

,. Checking of Distribution transformers for optimum level of Oil, breathers and earthening system.

> Checking the functionality of the Substation equipment, Power transforms, protection relays, Bus bars, CT and PT, switching arrangements etc. and ensuring their healthiness.

> Checking and tightening of all pillar box underground cable connections wherever necessary.

> Rectification of weak links in the entire network that may likely to break down during the monsoon rain and cyclone.

> To stock required quantity of reserve spares like poles, conductors, Transformers insulators to encounter the monsoon season

> Ensure that flood warnings and precautions are properly received by the vulnerable communities and prepare them to face the disaster.

> Conduct of periodic and regular survey by commune Veterinary Assistant Surgeons and other technical staff against outbreak of any diseases

> Regular de-worming of all susceptible Livestock species to improve their health status and immunity level, at all Veterinary Dispensaries, Key Village Units and Mobile Veterinary Units and through conduction of de-worming health camps.

ANIMAL HUSBANDRY

» To ensure trimming and pruning of tree branches, cutting of dead trees before onset of monsoon

>" To enlist the details of staff to be attached with 11 Firka-wise Task Force Teams constituted for responding relief activities during monso?n for the purpose of snake catching, cutting of trees, removal of felling trees on roads etc.

FOREST DEPARTMENT

> Early warning message to be sent through VHf radio communication, public· address system to all fishermen particularly those engaged in fishing and harbour staff. Warning messages also be sent through the local cable TV network

» To alert fishermen about weather condition > Fishing boats to be kept ready for rescue operations > To co-ordinate with Indian Coast Guard Station for rescue operations > To ensure that boats and other equipment of fishermen are moved to

safer places and secured

FISHERIES

> To keep ready the essential commodities viz. rice, pulses, oil, etc. for supply of food to the people to be accommodated in relief camps/shelters

> To plan for prevention of cost escalation of commodities during crisis/ disaster

» Foods to be supplied to the affected community from the nearest possible area of that locality

> To have inventory of Private Hotel Owners/ Caterers for supply of food during disaster when required in large quantity.

CIVIL SUPPLIES DEPARTMENT ( ESF #10)

> To inspect all relief shelters and to ensure sanitation, power connection, water availability in all relief shelters

> To nominate a responsible official for each shelter to take care of the affected people who will be accommodated in relief shelters

DEPT. OF WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT ( ESF # 9)

> To have inventory of vehicles (Bolero/Tata Sumo/Mini Bus and other vehicles) area-wise at the nearest point/area to evacuate people in time before the disaster strikes and for use of rescue teams/ESF Teams/ Firka Level Teams
