Call to Order: Meeting is called to Order at 6:00 pm

Last Meeting Minutes Approved by Mary Ann Sanchez, Paula Hoback seconded the minute approval

Past Open Action Review Indiana Logistics Directory

o Open item, moved to January Rich to schedule website training

o Open item, need to schedule Jason to learn more about LinkedIN Insight Tagging

o Open Item Lucia to put the points of how many points you’ll earn at each PDM on the advertisements

o Open Itemo Last advertisement said “you could earn certification points”o Update on combo networking event and education on how to earn and apply for points.

Target first meeting in 2018 (February) Peter to teach Erin how to put classes that are on our website on APICS.org

o Open Itemo Peter will load all back events, then transfer to Erin.

Rich, Peter and Tom to go to the bank to transfer the account name.o Completedo Chase doesn’t offer that type of account anymore, so maintaining that account was and will be a

challenging experience Paula to have baseline performance done for each of the 43 standards

o Completed Paula to update the board report template

Page 1

o Will be completed by December meeting Paula to update Board Roles and Responsibilities (SOPs)

o Completed Board of Director Succession Planning

o Will put into CBAR action plans Mary to follow-up with Miles regarding Tow Yard Brewery bill

o Miles said he hadn’t gotten the bill yet.

Marketing Update: Jason Jackson No update.

Programs Update: Lucia Villalobos Next event is brewery tour at Sun King Brewery It generally takes a couple of days from when we submit a publishing request to when it shows up on the

website. What is the current frequency of reminder emails prior to the event?

o Used to do two weeks out, one week out, four days out, two days out and day of (if we still had slots open)

o Generally had good attendance, but that could be several factors (location, cost, topic) Goal is to have everything from January to June published, to give more time for marketing. Have a meeting between marketing and programs and eduction to align the schedule.

o There is a CBAR standard to have a programs policy document. For each program, here is the frequency of marketing.

o It’s marketing responsibility to send the emails reminders out. Beginning of next PDM, will have 0 minutes on how to get points to maintain your certification Pull or create a one-pager on how to maintain certification. (Myra)

o Might already be a one-pager on apics.org in maintenance section Who is responsible for format of the website?

o There is a folder on the website, named “Photo Gallery”, under “Media Manager”o Have been used in past for PDMs.o Currently we can’t put photos in the rotation on the main home page, but Rich can ask StarChapter

how to do that.o Would like to have the pictures “above the fold”. So you don’t have to scroll to see them.

Student chapters on CIND doesn’t include IUPUI.

Education Update: Pru Strain-Gamso Pricing and authorizations for private class instructor kits and participant systems

o In the past we have sold instructor kits to organizations o Want to make sure that anyone that does that training has access to the training process.o Training process has changed over last few months.o Question was raised when a company came in and asked for the instructor kit. o In the past, we charged a minimal amount.o Should we sell them? And if so, how much? Do we ask that the organization purchase them, or can

they borrow from the chapter? To get consistency need to develop a strategy.

2

o Not making or losing a lot of money either way. Some instructors devote a lot of energy to teaching, and if we say that they can’t purchase materials, that will not go over well.

o We can only legally support APICS IDP certified instructors.o When a company instructs the class, and they don’t use any IDP instructor, the chapter isn’t putting on

the class. A chapter supported class is taught by an IDP instructor.

o Selling instructor kits is just a straight buy, which is easy money for the chapter.o If we decide as a chapter not to sell it, companies will just purchase it on their own.o There is nothing that says the kits must be taught by an IDP instructor. o Our commitment is to say any chapter supported class is taught by an IDP.o If a company purchasing the material, they will get all the access with the kit. o What is our pricing for the kits? Will discuss offline.o They won’t be able to borrow the kits anymore, because there will be a licensing associated with it.

The slides are all online, so they will need a log-in for it. o Currently, when instructors borrow from the chapter, they get all the books, and then Michelle grants

them instructor access.o Discuss chapter ownership verse company ownership.o When will this be resolved? The company needs to purchase before the end of the year.

Let’s sell it for what we’ve been selling it for, then if we need to increase it, we can. Instructure Pay

o Recently, Roche held a class, but they only had three Roche people. They allowed public people come in. If Roche didn’t allow that, these people wouldn’t have taken the class, because our chapter wouldn’t have held a class.

o Asking the board to pay the Roche instructor who allowed the three public people to come. We’d like to compensate her for that since she didn’t teach a public class which would have been paid.

o When instructors teach a class for their day-time company, they don’t get paid.

Motion: To pay Kimber $1,000 for instructing a CSCP class this semester. The chapter would still net 50% of what we made on the class.

Second: Tammy seconds. Vote: Ayes have it. Resolved: Motions passes.

Instructure Payo Currently, it’s a straight $2000 to teach a class.o Proposing to increase pay for CPIM class from $2000 to $2500 for a three day class. o Proposing to increase CLTD and CSCP from $2000 to $2500 and those are three and four days.o Budget assumes CPIM 2 pay is $3750. That projection is five to six days of class time.

Used to be 4 modules, which was paid at $8000.

Motion: To increase the instructor pay as stated above. Second: Tammy seconds. Vote: Ayes have it. Resolved: Motions passes. New instructor pay is as follows.

CPIM 1 $2500

3

CPIM 2 $3750 CLTD $2500 CSCP $2500

Individual self-study learning system purchases – via chapter, or via corporate?o We have told people in the past that if they don’t take the class, the chapter won’t sell the material.o We should change the policy, because the chapter gets a discount on this material. o Will discuss offline to determine pricing and execution

Updates for online instruction pilot programo These courses are actually scheduled time, in front of their computers. o There is a requirement of “online-face-time.”o Six month pilot has been extended to June. o Customer base now is continental USA.o Could we offer classes in Spanish?

APICS corporate will not translate the materials. Classes could be taught in Spanish.

Finance: Tom Cook Chapter asset listing Miles still hasn’t heard about the bill from Tow Yard Brewery Peter to get chapter business cards.

o Would list who to contact to get involved.

Quality Update: Paula Hoback CBAR is at 70. We need 15 to be Gold Status For next board meeting, will have action items and development plans. Will finalize in a meeting that those

items are what we decided to pursue.

President Update: Peter Clonts Chapter Strategy Away Day in January

o Would like it to be an all-day event, instead of breaking it up in smaller sessions. o Typically, we would pick a Saturday. Would anyone object to using MLK day?

Lilly does not get that day off. Peter will send out a poll for Saturdays.

Recognitiono Send your T-shirt size to Peter

Student Chapters: Mary Ann Sanchez Case Competition Update

Student Ambassadors: Myles Watson Inviting students via word-of-mouth to next PDM

o Can’t advertise publically because it’s an 21 and over event. Could we give a small scholarship to be an Student Ambassador? Peter to give Miles his budget.

4

Membership: Matthew Chambers Increased since last meeting.

o Number discrepancies because of conflicting metrics.o Starting in December will use the new reporting methods that will be more accurate.

Rebateso Our chapter has 175 members who have been members for longer than 5 years.o Webinar next week for us to understand how the rebates will affect the chapter.o APICS Corporate is selling this as an incentive to keep the chapter good retention rates.o This has a direct bottom line impact.

Company Coordinators No update.

Publicity: Erin Hervey No update. Get materials to Erin for the newsletter by Friday.

IT/WEB: Rich Bayley No update.

District Representative Update: Tammy Lantz No planned district meetings.

Administration: Myra Ansley No update.
