IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF THE NINETEENTH CIRCUIT IN AND FOR INDIANRIVER, MARTIN, OKEECHOBEE, AND ST. LUCIE COUNTIES,

STATE OF FLORIDA

ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER 08-15

RE: Weekend Duty assignments for 2009-St. Lucie County

WHEREAS the Chief Judge is required to develop an administrative plan for theefficient and proper administration of all courts within the circuit, and;

WHEREAS the number of resident appointed and or elected circuit judges living in St.Lucie County has dwindled significantly over the last five years, and;

WHEREAS the judicial workload relating to St. Lucie County cases has not decreased,but has increased, and;

WHEREAS St. Lucie resident circuit judges and resident county judges have requestedrelief and assistance in sharing the workload for said county in an equitable and efficient manner,and;

WHEREAS a significant number of Martin County resident circuit judges haveassignments in St. Lucie County and are familiar with St. Lucie County cases and procedure;

Now therefore as Chief Judge and pursuant to Rule 2.215 (b)(4), Florida Rules of JudicialAdministration, the following judicial assignments relating to weekend and holiday coverage arehereby made effective January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009 regarding weekend and holidayFirst Appearances, Detention and Shelter Hearings, and other emergency matters that may ariseon the weekends or during holidays. The weekend and holiday duty assignments rotation shallinclude those circuit judges who have a full time assignment in St. Lucie County during theregular work week. The Martin County resident circuit judges shall be excused from acting asthe duty judge for Martin County weekends and holidays. The attached schedule "A" shall bethe weekend and holiday assignments for St. Lucie County.
