Text GivingText the amount of your gift and the word “LENT” to 701.404.8325. Complete a one-time registration. After registration, you’ll receive a confirmation text, a receipt via email, as well as the option to set up a reoccurring gift.
Hope and Healing: We Receive, We Give, We InviteJesus is about bringing hope to people and giving healing to the wounded. And since this is what Jesus does, then this is what we, His church do. During Lent we will follow Jesus in three ways when it comes to hope and healing. First, we receive it. Then we give it. And finally, we invite others into it.
We ReceiveWe want you to receive hope and healing through two different ways.1. Worship is one way to receive hope and healing. Throughout
Lent, Wednesday and Sunday worship services will have different sermon series. It’s an opportunity for many of you to worship both Wednesdays and Sundays and to go deeper into your relationship with Jesus.
2. Hope and Healing Course has been developed and will be taught by Hope’s pastors. It is offered twice on Sundays, March 8-29:
11:00am at North Campus 6:30pm at South CampusThis is a course for every adult as we are all broken by sin. Those who have specific hurts in their lives will find it especially beneficial.
We Invite Finally, we invite others to know hope and healing. Invite people to worship, the Hope and Healing Course, confirmation, High School Ministry and Hopekids. Every time you participate in ministry at Hope ask yourself this question; “Who do I need to invite to experience the love of Jesus?”
We Give Not only do we receive hope and healing, but we also give it. We will be giving an offering to the New Life Center and Churches United for the Homeless. These organizations get “it” that we must do something to help those without shelter. A special offering will be taken in worship on March 25 and 29. If you want to give earlier, you may through text giving or a special offering envelope located at the kiosks, ushers and the Church Office.

Two classes offered! Pick the location & date that works for your family! At Hope Lutheran Church it is our desire to partner with parents to fulfill the promises they made to their children during baptism. HsM WOrk creW Making Friends and Making a diFFerence!
Every Fall and Spring, HSM gets to bring a Work Crew of 20-25 High School students to Camp Castaway. These busy students give up a weekend of activities to serve middle schoolers on retreat. They cook, they clean, they wait and bus tables. They even share their testimonies with younger students when they can. But, the real reason they come? Their own faith and friendships. They are up late every night worshiping together after the younger students have left for free time. They don aprons and gloves every day, clean miles of dishes, and fill the kitchen with music and laughter. These students are absolute treasure. God has blessed Hope richly.

Driven to Serve!Picture this, a single mom who is struggling to support her family...She goes out to her car and discovers her abusive ex has found her car and slashed all four of her tires. What does she do? She doesn’t have the money for an expensive tow truck, let alone the cost of the tires. She has a serious problem that will have a severe impact on her life.It seems he has won.
Fortunately, she talks to her case manager who places a referral to Fix It Forward Ministry to get her car repaired. They tow
it in, replace her tires and get her back on the road, removing this headache from her life so she can focus on her family. This is a true story.Want to be part of this amazing ministry? Volunteers are an essential part of our ability to perform needed repairs on vehicles. To volunteer to fix cars, go to fixitforwardministry.com. All skill levels are welcome. Do you have more people skills than mechanical skills? Do you have a compassionate heart for these people in need? You may want to be a Spark Plug! A Spark Plug visits with the client at the shop on the days they are working on cars. Contact Judy at [email protected] or call 701.235.6629.We truly are Driven To Serve, both the needy and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Prayer Corner
Where’s Papa?By Peggy MonsebrotenThe response of our two youngest granddaughters every time they call, and I say hello is “Where’s Papa?” I think they could wait a little longer before they are inquiring of him. Of course, it always makes their Papa smile. At times I’m like my little ones when I feel like things are going all wrong, nothing is going the way I planned, and I feel alone. I’m asking where’s PAPA? Hard things happen and I ask, where were You? I read that You never sleep and You’re never too busy but then, where are You? I get impatient and I don’t understand any of what I’m going through and I want to hear from Him NOW! I need to hear from Him. If only I’d have the patience to wait. He’ll always speak to me if I’m willing to listen. It comes through His word, a sermon, a song, friend or long buried memory. Our heavenly Papa is always near and available unlike our human fathers and grandfathers. My vision is so limited and I’m looking at what is right in front of me which may not look good at all but then I remember that my heavenly Papa loves me and is in control. God is up to something good and has the answer to everything.
“I have tried hard to find you—don’t let
me wander from your commands.” Psalm
119:10“Don’t let your heart be troubled.” John 14:1Dear Lord, help me to remember Your promises and to stay in Your presence so I don’t have to wonder where You are. Help me to let You put your fingerprints on my desires instead of mine. Help me not to wait to call on Your name. Amen.
Kindness is difficult to give away because
it keeps coming back.

Hooked on Being a BuddyBy Sue Johnson I am a relative newcomer to Open Arms Ministry, a volunteer opportunity that provides one-on-one support for children with special needs so that they may participate fully in our Hopekids programming. When I was approached about being a “buddy” for a preschool student, I was not sure I’d have the energy to
keep up with an active 3-year-old; but I gave it a try, and after just a few weeks of my Wednesday night connections with my special little one, I am hooked! Being important in the life of a child is a blessing in itself, and helping to bring even the youngest of our Hopekids to feel comfortable in our church setting and begin their faith journey has enriched my life. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve in this way and look forward to continuing in this very special ministry.
