REGISTRATION MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

The NRRPT Registration Maintenance Program is designed to help assure that Registered Radiation Protection Technologists (RRPTs) continue to maintain their professional qualification. The program requires RRPTs to participate in professional development activities after their initial registration, and it monitors those activities on a periodic basis. Meeting the requirements of the program is mandatory to maintain active registration. In addition, the RRPT must maintain membership in the Registry for the entire maintenance cycle. The Registration Maintenance Program began January 1, 1999 and requires 20 points to be earned in each five-year cycle. The cycle begins and ends on a calendar year basis, i.e., begins January 1 of the first year of the cycle and ends December 31 of the last year of the cycle. All points must be earned within the cycle to which they apply. For RRPTs registered on or before January 1, 1999, the first cycle will begin on that date. The first cycle for those registered after January 1, 1999, will begin on January 1 of the year following registration. If you have comments or questions please contact Mark Bayless, Continuing Education Committee Chairman at [email protected]. COLLEGE CREDITS The American Council on Education’s College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT) has evaluated and recommended college credit for 1 of the NRRPT courses. The American Council on Education, the major coordinating body for all the nation's higher education institutions, seeks to provide leadership and a unifying voice on key higher education issues and to influence public policy through advocacy, research, and program initiatives. ACE CREDIT connects workplace learning with colleges and universities by helping adults gain access to academic credit at colleges and universities for formal courses and examinations taken in the workplace or other settings outside traditional higher education. For more than 30 years, colleges and universities have trusted ACE CREDIT to provide reliable course equivalency information to facilitate their decisions to award academic credit. For more information, visit the ACE CREDIT website http://www.acenet.edu/acecredit.

Item 1A, shall be deemed Inactive Members. 2. Members who have made sustained and substantial contribution(s) to the Registry may be appointed

to Emeritus Membership by majority vote of the Board. 3. By majority vote of the Board, non-registered membership categories may be established in

accordance with the Article II Objectives. Also, non-registered membership involvement in the activities of the Registry shall be determined by majority vote of the Board.

4. Following investigation of the facts by the Board and upon two-third’s approval of the members of the

ARTICLE IX - DISSOLUTION 1. Upon dissolution of the Registry, the Board of Directors shall, after paying or making provisions for

payment of all liabilities of the Registry, dispose of all the assets of the Registry exclusively for the purposes of the Registry in such manner or to such organization or organizations organized and operated exclusively for charitable, educational, religious, or scientific purposes as shall, at the time, qualify as an exempt organization or organizations under Section 50l(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (or the corresponding provision of any future United States Internal Revenue Law). Any such assets not so disposed of shall be disposed of by the Court of Common Pleas of Hamilton County, Tennessee, where the principal office of the Registry is located, exclusively for such purposes or to such organization or organizations as said court shall determine are organized and operated exclusively for such purposes.

ARTICLE X - POLITICAL 1. The Registry will not, as a substantial part of its activities, attempt to influence legislation or participate

representative(s) shall not become involved with causes, organizations, or activities that conflict with the best interest of the Registry, or otherwise compromise in any manner the integrity of the NRRPT. A person involved in such activities may be censured, as deemed appropriate, with two-third’s (2/3) vote of the Board of Directors.

ARTICLE XII - TRADENAMES, DESIGNATION, MARKS 1. The Registry (whose official name is “National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists”), may

do business under the tradename “NRRPT”. Parties, when referring to the entity of the Registry itself, may refer to it by the acronym, NRRPT.

2. The designation, NRRPT, and the NRRPT logo (comprising the outline of the United States of

America encompassing the NRRPT designation) are protected and exclusive trademarks, service marks, and/or membership marks of the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists. The Registry may from time to time adopt and use other designation, logos, and terms as its exclusive marks. All such marks of the Registry are collectively referred to herein as the “Marks”.

3. The Board of Directors shall establish from time to time policies for maintaining control over the

Marks, including regulations controlling use of the Marks by Members, and policies for licensing the use of the Marks in connection with goods and services.

4. Without the specific approval of the Board, no member shall use the Marks of the Registry in any way

which will imply that the member’s activities are sponsored by or endorsed by or approved by the Registry; rather, a person’s sole right is to indicate that he or she is an active member of the Registry (if accurate) and that he or she is a Registered Radiation Protection Technologist (if accurate).

ARTICLE XIII - AMENDMENTS 1. These Bylaws may be changed by a three-quarters (3/4) vote of the Board. In witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names on this 31st day of March, 2018:

Dave Tucker, Chairman

Mark Bayless, Vice-Chairman
