Jeans elementary school in Willowbrook.We strive to provide students with a range of choices and opportunities that empower them, encourage theiracademic success, and strengthen life skills through enrichment activities. our staff includes a certified teacher,qualified aides, and trained volunteers. our services are open to the residents of echo lane, hinsdale laketerrace, hinsdale Point, and Waterfall glen complexes in Willowbrook. Program hours are from 3:00 pm to6:00pm Monday through thursday, and 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday. We have expanded hours to accommodatefamilies on half-days of school and most days when school is not in session. adult and teen volunteers areoften part of our program. why are these services critical?the Willowbrook Corner neighborhood came into being through publichousing relocation programs in the 1970s and 80s. located in unincorporatedduPage County, the neighborhood is not served by a municipality. Fewstores and resources are within walking distance of Willowbrook Corner,and transportation to the neighborhood is limited. Many families in theneighborhood live below the federal poverty level. our goals are to helpyoung students improve their educational performance, practicepositive decision-making skills in a supportive environment, provideopportunities for community involvement, and provide year-round learningopportunities. these goals are achieved by providing diverse activitiesto participating students and their families, responsive to the needs of thecommunity we serve.
