NADC CEO INTRODUCTION
1
In 1994, the National Association of Diabetes Centres (NADC) arose from the vision of key leadersin diabetes in Australia who knew that we could achieve more by working together. The NADC hasgone from strength to strength, and now with a rapidly growing membership, greater governmentand ongoing industry support, we are and will continue, to improve the standard of care provided topeople with or at risk of diabetes.
To achieve this, NADC has invested much time and energy into setting standards, accreditation andeducation in the provision of quality diabetes care. In supporting this work, 2020 will see us host the4th Australasian Diabetes Advancements and Technologies Summit (ADATS).
The full day conference is open to registrants nationally and internationally, with advertising aimed athealth professionals who are interested in learning and developing their services in advanceddiabetes management practices.
The annual conference will host approximately 400 delegates and is anticipated to continue to be aprominent fixture on the Australasian healthcare professional education calendar.
The ADATS program provides a forum of interactive presentations of innovation, technologies andtherapeutics and provides a great base for networking opportunities. Sponsors also have theopportunity to provide a presentation to the delegates within the days program.
Topics covered in the program will include, but are not be limited to, funding and integration of newtechnologies incorporating the latest monitoring systems and technological approaches to diabetesmanagement as well as updates on medication and injectables and what we can learn from eachother in effective models of care for supporting change and innovation.
Such an event cannot effectively function without the generous support of our industry partners andthe ADATS meeting is an opportunity for the coming together of national diabetes thought leadersand healthcare providers to learn, network and implement newer technologies and therapeutics intotheir practice to support improved care for the person living with diabetes.
