Our Story

MissionOur mission is to Seek, Identify, and Support young Agents of Change to pursue higher education and
make a difference in the community.
What we do1. Start College Savings Accounts- (currently
BrightStart Illinois)
2. Support Monster Scholars’ individual service projects
3. Serve together with Monster Scholars and community
4. Provide College Prep consulting- 8th graders (study skills and financial planning- Morethansat.com)
5. Celebrate! Fall Banquet
Ambassador Teachers’ Role
Seek, Identify, Support
Ambassador Teachers provide the lens that we use to select our Monster Scholars.
6th Grade Ambassador Teachers STEP 1- Choose 3 nominees from your class who
are...1. College-bound2. Compassionate3. Driven4. Future leaders of their community
(By March 7th)
We ask these nominees,
“How do you want to make an impact in your community?”
6th Grade Ambassador Teachers STEP 2- Assist nominees in taking video of
reading their essay and submission (Youtube video)● Award $25 gift card to nominee and to ambassador
teacher● Application Deadline: April 1st
From the nominees, MEF will choose finalists by selecting the essays which exhibit that the nominee truly wants to make a positive and lasting impact on
his/her community.
6th Grade Ambassador Teachers(If one or more of your students are selected as a finalist…) STEP 3- Assist nominees in taking video of
reading their essay and submission (Youtube video)● Award $25 gift card to finalist
We ask the finalists,
“How could you use $50 to positively impact your community today?”
MEF selects the final Monster Scholars who successfully plan a credible strategy for bringing about positive change in his/her community.

5. Celebrate! Fall Banquet- Annual Charity event (invitees: Donors, Scholars, Scholars’ family, Board members, Members)raffle, key note speaker, scholars’ accomplishments recognized
