EDWARD D. LAPRADE: President & CEO, ADNET Technologies, LLC

Presenting: Opening & Closing Remarks Ed Laprade founded ADNET in 1991 with the idea that combining technical expertise with business acumen would create a uniquely valuable computer consulting firm. Under his leadership, ADNET has grown significantly and become one of the leading systems integrators in New England. Mr. Laprade oversees business development activities, leads the Software Development group, has championed the formulation of ADNET's market-leading ASAP methodology, and continually looks for opportunities to deliver business impact with technology. Prior to starting ADNET, Mr. Laprade had experience and proven leadership in business and information technology, including technology roles at Bell Labs, NCR, The Phoenix, and Price Waterhouse, and a founding role at Integrated Management Systems. As President and CEO of ADNET, Mr. Laprade has overseen the strategic growth of the organization with a focus on building new business partnerships and strengthening long-term relationships with ADNET clients. Under the leadership of Mr. Laprade, ADNET has grown from a startup to four divisions with over 35 employees whose mission is to understand and then solve business problems using technology. He has instilled a philosophy of hire extremely bright technologists who happen to think like business people. Mr. Laprade's strategy is to continue to grow the organization both organically and through acquisition. Mr. Laprade is a long-standing member of several prominent industry peer groups that focus on driving sustainable business growth, served several terms as the Chairman of the Town of Suffield Technology Committee, and is actively involved in programs dedicated to the development of today's business students. Mr. Laprade holds his AAS degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from the University of Hartford and his BS and MS in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts.

Bob Lincavicks: Partner Technology Strategist – Northeast Microsoft

Presenting: The Evolving Future of Productivity Bob Lincavicks advises business, organizations and individuals on how to use cloud-based and terrestrial software solutions to deliver value. Since joining Microsoft in 1995, Bob has helped hundreds of customers across New England and Upstate New York succeed by understanding how to leverage those solutions. In his current role as a Partner Technology Strategist, he is able to scale that education and impact by working with great partners like ADNET.

Christopher J. Luise: Executive Vice President, ADNET Technologies, LLC

Presenting:

Christopher Luise is Executive Vice President at ADNET Technologies, LLC. Early in his career, Christopher co-

founded ADNET with President & CEO Edward Laprade, and worked for several years as vice president

responsible for new business development. In 1995, he left ADNET and spent the next 13 years driving

innovative, technology-based solutions in the U.S., Europe, Latin America, and Asia as group CIO and later

CEO for a Global Financial Services organization. Christopher returned to ADNET in 2008 to lead the

Infrastructure and Learning Services consulting practice with a full-time focus on strategy, operations, and

branding.

Christopher has over 20 years of experience and proven leadership in global business and Information

Technology operations. His vision as an executive-level manager with a unique background in IT strategy

and marketing has driven success and sustained growth in global brands within the financial services

industry and the technology sector. Throughout his career, Christopher has focused on developing

progressive service models and engaging successful new business opportunities. As the CEO of European

operations for a large financial services firm, he built integrated and synergistic teams in Berlin and London,

and guided the organization to profitability through an economic recession. Throughout global mergers and

acquisitions, Christopher has focused on enabling firms to retain knowledge, efficiencies, and operational

standards, successfully bringing the skills of over 57,000 employees in over 50 countries under one

corporate brand. Christopher has spearheaded significant change initiatives that have strengthened global

brands and created award-winning employment cultures for his staff.

At ADNET, Christopher is responsible for the technology direction of the organization, with a strong focus on

building strategic, long-term partnerships with ADNET’s clients and technology partners.

Faith Antion: Marketing Manager, ADNET Technologies, LLC

Presenting: Faith Antion joined ADNET in 2006, starting as a Marketing Assistant after completing her Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) degree. As Marketing Manager, Faith is now responsible for ADNET’s marketing and client engagement strategy. Faith and her team ensure that the company’s branding, messaging and service delivery are well aligned to the needs of ADNET’s clients and of the market. Faith leverages her creative background and design skills to ensure that ADNET’s communications reflect the firm’s professional approach. As the marketing team has grown and Faith’s role has evolved, she has been increasingly involved in the development of the organization’s business strategy. In 2013, Faith received a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Hartford.

Cindi Gondek: Principal, ACT Group,

Presenting: How to grow your business through innovation and technology Cindi Gondek, Principal of ACT Group located in Cromwell, CT. In 1999, with a goal and a dream, Cindi, along with your husband Greg, purchased Northeast Copy. Since then, the name and location have changed, but the goal of being the top service providers in the country has remained true. Their services include: Office equipment, Managed Print Services, Document solutions, Customer Support-supplies-service and their newest addition of 3D printing and 3D scanning equipment and services. After researching this new technology over 2 years ago they had decided to get into the 3D arena. They are now the top 3D Production Dealer in New England with customers ranging from small manufacturers to Fortune 500 companies. Their on staff physics engineer and team have collaborated with UCONN, CT Innovations and CCAT on educational programs as well as being a resource center for this ever changing and expanding industry. ACT Group has recently received the Hartford Business Journal’s Business Champions Award for Innovation, 2 Elite Dealer awards, 26 Kyocera Gold Medallions, 3 consecutive JD Power and Associates awardsand a Woman-Owned Business award from the Middlesex Chamber. Cindi, serves on several boards including, CBIA, Middlesex Chamber, Middlesex United Way and Visage International.

Joseph Pappano: Vice President of Strategic Alliances, Fiberlink

Presenting: How Secure is Your Mobile Strategy?

Joseph Pappano is Vice President of Partnerships and Alliances at Fiberlink Communications Corporation, responsible for building and managing the partnership ecosystem.

Prior to his role establishing Fiberlink’s partnership programs, Joe served as Vice President of India Operations, at Fiberlink’s first overseas research and development unit, Fiberlink Software Pvt. Ltd., located in Bangalore, India.

Joe also served as Vice President of Software Engineering at Fiberlink and is a co-inventor on key patents of Fiberlink’s MaaS360 platform.

Prior to Fiberlink, Joe held senior management and engineering positions at IBM Corporation, Lotus Development Corporation, Soft•Switch Corporation, Infotron Systems, and Unisys Corporation.

Greg Foss: Senior Security Research Engineer, LogRhythm

Presenting: The Advanced Threat Lifecycle Greg Foss is a Senior Security Research Engineer with LogRhythm Labs where he focuses on developing defensive strategies, tools and methodologies to counteract advanced attack scenarios. He has over 7 years of experience in the Information Security industry with an extensive background in Security Operations, focusing on Penetration Testing and Web Application Security. Greg holds multiple industry certifications including the OSCP, GPEN, GWAPT, GCIH, and C|EH, among others.

Mark LaPlaca: Senior Training Specialist, EANE

Presenting: It’s Changing Again?? Mark LaPlaca was the owner of Apple Hill Consulting Services, focusing on organization and staff development, prior to joining the Employer’s Association of the Northeast. He has consulted with diverse companies and universities on their training needs, providing HR advice, developing customized curriculum and delivering training sessions for all levels of staff. He also conducted certification classes in food safety management through the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation. Prior to operating his own business, Mark served as the Director of Training and Human Resources for a leading restaurant company with locations throughout the northeast. There, he designed and implemented employee and management development and customer service training programs, as well as led a staff of regional trainers, HR generalists and recruiters. He grew up in the hospitality industry; having spent time as General Manager or Managing Partner of more than 20 different restaurants, before focusing on Training and Human Resources. Mark is committed to helping others achieve and become more than they thought possible on their own. He also believes in giving back to his community though volunteerism and participation in local government, having twice been elected to serve as chair of his local Board of Education in Connecticut.

Brian Mulligan: Vice President Sales, Sonitrol

Presenting: Tools for the Unofficial Security Ambassador Brian Mulligan serves as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sonitrol of New England, serving Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In this role, Mulligan is responsible for overseeing Sonitrol of New England’s sales and marketing efforts for the region, for both commercial and residential customers and providing global technology with local people. Mulligan works to lead the continued explosive growth of Sonitrol of New England’s full suite of security services, including audio and video monitoring, access control and burglar and fire alarm solutions for large, medium and small commercial clients and residential customers .Brian also leads the Telephony division, which offers telephone systems and network solutions through agent partnerships, offering commercial customers a full suite of solutions for voice and data solutions. Before joining Sonitrol of New England, Mulligan held the position of Enterprise Sales Manager for Comcast Business Services. His previous sales and industry experience also includes positions with SNET, SBC, and AT&T. A native of Oakville, Connecticut, Mulligan resides in Meriden, CT, with his wife, his two children.

Tim Weber: Manager, Infrastructures Services, ADNET Technologies, LLC

Presenting: Tim Weber, Manager of Infrastructure Services, has been with ADNET since 1994. Tim began his career as a Systems Engineer and rapidly progressed into a leadership role in 1999. Since then, Tim has focused on the continual growth and development of ADNET’s service delivery team, and on the evolution of ADNET’s delivery model. Tim works with our clients to develop their overall IT vision with the goal of creating a manageable and secure infrastructure, balanced efficiency in operations, and redundancy and security. While providing strategic guidance, Tim and his team also work to implement security and disaster recovery best practices, develop standards and IT service levels, and establish IT Governance models. Tim holds a leadership role within his chapter of the Hartland Technology Group, a national networking association for IT service providers. Through membership in HTG, Tim is exposed to new solutions and best practices in the technology industry that he brings to ADNET for the benefit of our clients. Tim is also a frequent speaker at industry events and strives to help his audience think differently about their IT challenges. Tim serves his community as an Officer with the Lost Acres Volunteer Fire Department and enjoys teaching local students about fire prevention and safety. Tim maintains a blog and frequently draws parallels between his work as a firefighter and an IT advisor.

Tom Beggan: Northeast Channel Systems Engineer, Brocade Communications

Presenting: Software Defined Networking (SDN) - It’s Coming, are you ready? Tom Beggan has been in the LAN infrastructure industry for almost 20 years, starting in Technical Sales Support and working his way through various positions in Technical Training, Systems Engineering, Product Marketing, Product Management and Product Development. Tom joined Brocade in 2011 where he’s been working as a Channel Systems Engineer for the New England and Upstate New York region.

Michael Gendron: Professor, Central CT State University

Presenting: Cloud Computing, Big Data and Mobile: Enhancing Innovation through Business Intelligence (BI) Dr. Gendron is an internationally known thought leader on the intersection of business intelligence, mobile, cloud, and Big Data. He has an active LinkedIn and Twitter presence and is a regular contributor to the blog at www.AllAnalytics.com. His experience includes decades of IT management as he rose through the ranks from programmer to systems analyst to CIO. Currently, he is a professor of Information Systems at CCSU. Michael has presented at international conferences and the @CloudExpo boot camp. He has authored three books, Business Driven Data Communications (Prentice Hall), Business Intelligence Applied (Wiley/SAS), and his new book, Business Intelligence and the Cloud (Wiley/SAS).

Dennis Mudry: Senior Sales Engineer, Comcast Enterprise Services

Presenting: Connecting to the Cloud Dennis Mudry serves as a Senior Sales Engineer for Comcast’s Western New England Region. In this role, Dennis is responsible for customer solutions, network design and sales support efforts for the region which include Connecticut, Western Massachusetts, New York and Vermont. Dennis started his career at Comcast in 2009 and has been instrumental in the launch of Western New England’s Metro Ethernet network which offers high-performance optical point-to-point and multi-point network services as well as cloud based IP telephony. Before joining Comcast, Dennis held the position of Senior Network Architect for Virtela Technologies. He has held pre and post engineering positions with UUnet, MCI WorldCom, CompuServe network services and Sprint. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business administration from Post College. He is a Cisco certified internetwork professional and Ciena Carrier Ethernet administrator.

Michelle Syc: Senior Analyst, Advisory & Assurance Services, ADNET Technologies, LLC

Presenting: Michelle D. Syc, CISSP, CEH, has over 10 years of experience in risk management. Her focus in the cyber security and compliance industry allows her to assist clients with identifying and assessing information system related risks and implementing strategies to manage those risks. Michelle has extensive experience managing security audits, which include ethical hacking, penetration studies, and social engineering projects. She assists organizations in properly aligning information security spending to cost-effectively reduce the risk of data loss. Michelle designs test plans to evaluate control objectives and to identify weaknesses in the information technology control structure. She assists organizations in complying with information security regulations such as HIPAA, PCI DSS, MA201CMR and other Federal and state regulations.
