Sec 3 MTPS – Q&A

What kind of course can my child take in JC if she is in pure science? Can she still do medical science?

Homework assigned, eLearning

O The school has a homework policy to ensure

that the amount of homework assigned is

reasonable and is within the means of the

child.

O Homework serves to enhance mastery of the

subject.

O There is no eLearning day for Sec 3, but

homework assigned can be online submission.

Extra help for weaker subjects Coping with new Sec 3 syllabus

O Sec 3 (Sec 4) hinges on the child’s foundation

work in Sec 1 and 2.

O While upper sec work may seemed to be more

demanding, it is also age appropriate.

O Students have to be focused in class.

O Students with difficulty should seek help from

their teachers through consultation.

How will CCA points be used for my child’s admission to JC/Poly?

O CCA point is a bonus point.

O Grade A1-A2 is worth 2 points

O Grade B3-C6 is worth 1 point

O The child must first qualify for JC/Poly before CCA

points can be considered for offset in his/her

aggregate.
