Meditech: Imaging and Therapeutic Services (ITS) Manual
Introduction
Imaging and Therapeutic Services (ITS) contain patient reports for Imaging, HIM, or any ancillary area.
Reports could be created directly in ITS by the transcriptionist.
Reports could be uploaded from another vendor system via an interface and then processed in ITS.
This manual covers the following:
Signing into Meditech
Entering, Editing, and Completing Orders
Processing Reports
Processing History
Viewing or Printing a Report's Audit Trail
Meditech Helpful Hints
Starting Meditech
The modules in which you perform work are accessed through the Meditech program. This section explains how you log in to Meditech and select the correct database to work in. Be aware that Meditech automatically logs out when there is no activity in the program for a specified amount of time, i.e., no modules loaded, data selected, or information added.
When you log into Meditech, the page that displays contains only the features and functions you have access.
Locate the compass Meditech 6.0 icon on the desktop. Double clicking on this icon will bring up a Citrix login window.
If you do not see the Meditech icon on your desktop, click on the Windows Start button, Programs, and navigate to the Meditech program.

Type your User Name, and press the Tab key.
Your user name is first name,period,last name in small letters (Example – sally.jones)
o Type your Password, and press the Enter key.
At this time, your password must be a minimum of 8 characters. You may select any 8 characters.
You do not have to mix upper case, lower case, and numbers.
It will expire every 90 days.
It will also remember the last 6 passwords, so you will not be able to alternate between 2 different passwords.
All 4 North Idaho, KMC, Benewah, Boundary, and Bonners sites are using the same guidelines.
These restrictions are subject to change by the Steering Committee.

Worklist and Preferences
Figure 5: Preferences will allow you to change what you see on your worklist. You can search by Status, Date ranges, Providers, Techs, etc. Any changes made to your preferences will be saved under your login, not the computer that you are working on.

To Create a New Order

Enter Order Status by typing status, or by using the F9 Lookup or drop down arrow.
L = Logged (Ordered)
T = Taken (Taken)
C = Complete (Complete)
Enter patient by choosing patient name, medical record number, or account number. Refer to Find Patient section for options for searching for a patient in Meditech. You may search for a patient by

Enter Category by typing mnemonic or the F9 look up.
Use F9 Lookup or drop down arrow to choose procedure or type mnemonic.
Answer the required questions and click Save.

Figure 10: Select Modify Order from the desktop. Click on the appropriate field and modify the information. Any prior entry must be deleted, and the field must be blank in order to use the F9 Lookup or drop down arrow.

You can link to the Community Wide Scheduling (CWS) module. Your access determines what you can do within CWS.

Figure 16: You can view all of a patient’s previous Imaging history by choosing a patient from the worklist & clicking History, or click the History function, and choose “Any Patient” and then typing in a patient’s name.

Change Department
Figure 17: All of the Imaging Modalities are located under XX.IMAG. (KM, SP, OC, SM). You will only need to use this feature if you need to change to a different department outside of Imaging. Then enter a new department by typing in the mnemonic, use the F9 Lookup, or the drop down arrows. Click Save or F12.
Change Site
Figure 18: You can change your site by clicking Change Site on the desktop. Enter a new site by typing the mnemonic, using the F9 Lookup or drop down arrow. This only applies to Kootenai Health. The information bar above the patient information identifies where you are logged in to. In this example, you are logged in under KMC’s access, and using the KM.IMAG functions.

Proccess By Patient:
Enter Patient Name & choose the account
Click Create List at the bottom of the screen
Click Sign Out on the right side of the screen
Type D <space> and the last name of the provider & press F9. You will see nothing is found. Click the name button on the right side of the screen.
Choose the correct provider.
The number of days & the Library will default in for you.
Previously loaned out records will default into the Record Field.
Enter down to a blank line in the Record Field and type e<space> and free text in what you want to check out.

Meditech Helpful Hints: Help:
The question mark key (?) at the bottom of the screen indicates there may be help available in Meditech. Help is field specific and brings up different information. . Some fields may have Help information and not have Docum information.
Recall Function:
Spacebar + Enter is the Recall Function.
In the Print-on Prompt, Spacebar + Enter will recall the printer last used in the same application at that computer.
In the patient field, Spacebar + Enter will recall the patient last used in the same Meditech session. Selecting/Deselecting Multiple Reports:
You can select more than one report to work on at a time. To select more than one, place a check mark next to all the reports you want to work on.
To select or deselect all of the reports click the check mark at the top left side of the desktop.
To select individual reports, place a check mark next to the report you want
