Mddicins sons Frontidres (MSF)

22. The issues su rrounding MSF are issues for the Govern ment of N auru to contend with and notissues for the Australian Government. ln late 2017, Nauru engaged MSF to supplement healthservices for Nauruan citizens. Nauru has since learned that MSF has been treating refugeesand asylum seekers to the disadvantage of Nauruan citizens.

24' IHMS will continue to deliver effective health services to refugees and asylum seekers inNauru, without any 8ap in the level of delivered services. The movement of MSF from Nauruleaves no capability gap for the refugee and asylum seeker population.

25. There are current 40 mental health specialists on Nauru to treat the refugee and asylumseeker population of 718. This is one specialist for every 18 individuals. These staff are inaddition to the welfare workers of Canstruct and HOST and the primary medical staff of IHMS.
