Training Objectives

• Move drug allergies to the RPMS allergies list.• Enter an adverse reaction in EHR.• Remove a drug allergy from the problem list in

EHR.• Enter “no known allergies” in EHR.• Search specific allergies using iCare search

filter.

Type of Measure: Rate

The number of unique patients in the denominator who have at least one entry (or an entry stating

that the patient has no known medication allergies) recorded as structured data in their

medication allergy list. >80%The number of unique patients seen by the provider during the EHR reporting period.

More than 80% of all unique patients seen by the provider during the EHR reporting period have at least one entry (or an indication that the patient has no known medication allergies) recorded as structured data.

Configure RPMSDuring our how-to session we will:1. Discuss need to configure Drug-Drug & Drug Allergy

Checks.2. Move drug allergies to the RPMS Allergies List:

a. Run the PLAL Report.b. Using RPMS or EHR:

i. Add a drug allergy to the patient’s Allergies List.ii. Remove the drug allergy from the Problem List.

c. Run the Patient Allergies Not Signed Off report.d. Check the Verification queue.e. Enter No Known Allergies at EHR’s Adverse Reactions.

Evidence of Functionality

During our how-to session we will:1. Verify that all of a patient’s drug allergies appear on

the EHR Adverse Reactions pane.2. Verify that the EHR Adverse Reactions pane of each

patient having no drug allergies contains the entry “No Known Allergies.”
