Introduction to Administering Medications

An incident has taken place at a care home belonging to Your Care Group, in which an elderly resident has died as a result of what is believed to have been caused by a covert medication error.
The elderly resident died late this morning in hospital, following the incident at the home during the morning drug round.
Police have released a statement saying that they are questioning staff involved and a report has been submitted to the regulatory authorities and the Health & Safety Executive.
Your Care Group spokesperson stated that they were sending condolences to the family of the resident involved and that they will be co-operating fully with Police & regulatory investigation.
