How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts

There is synergy between our music video, digipak and website as they have a common theme so they can be recognised by the audience and have a common theme. The digipak front cover of the CD is also our advert, so it can be recognised by audience and can make a correlation with our product. Its other purpose is too also be presentable and eye catching too the right audience. The digipak, which is part of the ancillary text the synergy of this is with all our products which have the same themes

DigipakThe Digipak is effective in raising awareness of our product and final video. It is what the audience sees when they buy the CD package , so its design has to be good to catch the eye and be presentable .Our two pictures used are of the main female in our video, and graffiti from the wall surrounding our location.

Added a barcode and other familiarities of a CD cover to give it an authentic look

The front cover image has correlation with our video style and the basic writing. We went for the “ less is more” approach with a single picture and the blank title in the middle

With the title it makes it clear and easy to recognise

The background is a graffiti mural found in the location of our shooting

Added a blurring effect on Photoshop too make the mural of kids dancing around a mushroom cloud more prominent.

Music VideoOur video features the band singing the lyrics, as we sing different verses. Our music video is effective in combining our products together. We use the same person in the video as in the back of our CD cover. The images of our album are also in the music video a clear combination in the physical sense. The same mood and tone found within the video is in the album cover and digipac. The tone is evident through the effects used such as grey scale, and filming technique

Music Video• The music video is a non linear narrative and is an amplification, instead of having a narrative

structure or illustration, in the sense of following the lyrics of the songs. Ours has subliminal meanings and layers and does not follow lyrics of the song however it does follow the beat

Our music videos heavily uses grey scale throughout the video too give an artistic tone which combines all the ancillary together.

Website

The backgrounds of our website have the same format as this slideshare. The pages all have background of images from the tank and surrounding scene we used as our main focus point for our pages ,

Our bio front page has hyperlinks to different pages containing our biographies. The hyperlinks contain pictures of individual members

Our website has the same feel and look as our video, and we portray that through the background images we have. It’s a continuation of our style

• The combination of ancillary text is clear here as images from the website are found on the video. The band members also have biographies and a gallery of the video shoot of the video. With behind the scene images

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts

It is clear that with our ancillary text our digipak, music video and website it is effective in terms of combining them together as they all compliment each other. They both set have the same tone and portray the same message and make it clear what type of music video it is and what audience too attract.
