Pontiac Federal Liberal Association Pontiac Liberals Want Stronger Gatineau Park Protection Chelsea, Quebec, March 19, 2014 – The Board of Directors of the Pontiac Federal Liberal Association has adopted a resolution supporting efforts by Liberal members of Parliament to secure strong legislation to protect Gatineau Park. “Gatineau Park is the only federal park that isn’t a national park, and our Association’s board members decided it was time to take action to protect this unique Outaouais playground and ecological jewel of the National Capital Region,” today said Scott McDougall, president of the Pontiac Federal Liberal Association. Directors of the Pontiac Association adopted this resolution on March 16 to support efforts by Liberal MPs to amend the New Democratic Party’s Bill C-565, which was tabled last December to protect Gatineau Park. “Unfortunately, Bill C-565 falls short of giving Gatineau Park the protection it needs and deserves, and we’re delighted Liberal members of Parliament are working to amend it to guarantee the park is protected for future generations,” Mr. McDougall said. The resolution adopted by Pontiac Liberals expresses “support for granting Gatineau Park enhanced protection similar to that enjoyed by National Parks across Canada.” Moreover, directors of the Hull-Aylmer Federal Liberal Association adopted an identical resolution on Monday, March 17.

Gatineau Park is the only federal park that isnt a national park, and our Associations board members decided it was time to take action to protect this unique Outaouais playground and ecological jewel of the National Capital Region, today said Scott McDougall, president of the Pontiac Federal Liberal Association.

Directors of the Pontiac Association adopted this resolution on March 16 to support efforts by Liberal MPs to amend the New Democratic Partys Bill C-565, which was tabled last December to protect Gatineau Park.

Unfortunately, Bill C-565 falls short of giving Gatineau Park the protection it needs and deserves, and were delighted Liberal members of Parliament are working to amend it to guarantee the park is protected for future generations, Mr. McDougall said.

The resolution adopted by Pontiac Liberals expresses support for granting Gatineau Park enhanced protection similar to that enjoyed by National Parks across Canada.

Moreover, directors of the Hull-Aylmer Federal Liberal Association adopted an identical resolution on Monday, March 17.
