Q4. How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation

stages?

cameras & accessories• For the filming of the music video we used a HD handheld

camera. This allowed for easy movement and high quality film. These cameras we used were light wight and easy to carry, so when it came to filming in London. The camcorder was very portable.

• While filming we also used a tripod for all the shots that need to be steady and in one place. We also used a dollie which the tripod connects to this allowed us to get moving shot that were still steady.

• We also used a point and shoot camera to capture still images to help we are research, in location, Mise en scene and so on. We also used the the point and shoot camera for taking stills for are digi pack, album cover, and the magazine ad.

Macs• The software and everything for editing and creating are music video were on macs. This is because macs are designed for easy uses when using creative software. All macs come with high definition screens now and makes looking at your work extremely clear and clean as well as easy to change.

FInal Cut• Final Cut has allowed us to edit the video to a very high level that could be used in to day

industry. Final cut allows us to be able to add many different special effects so that the music video doesn’t become boring and unprofessional.

• The kind of things we have done with are music video is;

• Having it all in black and white, which made are video slick and high end.

• The uses of replacing a green screen so that we could have multiple backgrounds behind the dancers and the artist.

• The uses of quick snappy cuts that made the video quick pace and interesting.

• Being able to create a split screen so that you can have multiple clips playing. This keep a viewer interested to keep watching.

• The uses of still background with effects such as earthquake and flash to make them more interesting.

• The uses of text to have some of the lyrics pop up on screen. Adding another thing to grab the viewer and keep there eye glued to the screen.

Green Screen• For parts of are music video we choose to film on green screen so that we could replace the background to what we wanted to do. Being able to change the background has allowed us to have have the bright backgrounds, have text ing the backgrounds. I do think that the green screen did work better in black and white as in the colour version there was a small line of green round the edge.

Photoshop• We used photoshop to create are backgrounds in the music video. The magazine ad

and the digi pack.

• The backgrounds; were so that we could add some bright flashy colours in to the video. It was also another effect we used to keep the audiences attention.

• The magazine ad; needed to a bight in your face poster so that it jumped out at you and made you want to buy it. On photoshop we were able to cut out Tee put him in front of a more urban background we then added a gradient overlay on top of Tee to make him a more bright a interesting. Then added text that told you the name, when its out, who thought it was good. what you would find typically on a magazine ad.

• The digi pack; had to be recognizable after the viewer had scene the magazine ad. So it had the same name. But we also tried to keep the colours the same the font the same the same style with having the artist Tee across the cover of the album and tried to keep everything tying with each other.
