Page 2: Media Pitch

WHAT ARE WE MAKING? We are making a music video for a band

called I Set The Sea On Fire and the song is called “Monsters”.

The genre of this song and the band is indie.

THE NARRATIVE The narrative of our video will be how the

main lead singer in the band is still struggling with the issues that he is having, as he is isn’t feeling too good he decides to go on a walk to clear his head. On this walk he will meet the other band members along the way. We will show how their friendship has formed and how they have supported each other and the main actor throughout the video.

WHAT IS OUR PRODUCT ABOUT? Our music video will be revolved around the

narrative of the song, we will outline the struggles that the lead singer went through by using the members of the band or actors to portray the story.

Our narrative will be how the band member overcomes his personal issues and how their music has brought them together as people/friends.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO PASTICHE? We had the idea of having the band walking

in sync across various locations in Sheffield for part of the video, we would then cut this to fit the beat of the music in the post production section. The video that we have taken this idea from is Imagine Dragons – On Top Of The World.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO PASTICHE? Another idea we had was to have the lead

singer run away from his problems and meet up with the various other band members along his journey. We have taken this idea from the music video of Bastille – Pompeii.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO PASTICHE? The final bit we could pastiche is the location.

We would like to have the band performing in this kind of location to cut to between scenes. This idea was inspired by the location in the music video for Hall Of Fame by The Script.

MES (LOCATIONS) Some specific locations we could use for the

walking scenes in the music video are some of the buildings close to college. Here are some examples.

MES (PROPS) As the band are not available to perform for

the music video, instruments will not be featured in the video. Therefore, the props that we will need to convey our narrative are simple day to day items like mobile phones.

MES (COSTUMES) The costumes that the actors will be wearing will

be their casual, regular clothes such as jeans and plain shirts. We chose this costume idea to show the normality of the characters day to day life.

MES (ACTORS) We will be looking to use 1 female and 3 male

actors to replicate the band members. The actors will be aged around 17-19, medium-slim build and Caucasian. The main actor will replicate the lead singer in the band, he will be calm and gentle. The other actors will be more energetic and supportive.

WHO IS OUR TARGET AUDIENCE? Our target audience will be around the same

age as the band members and the actors that we could use in our production.

This is male and females, around 16-21 years of age.

WHAT PERMISSIONS DO WE NEED? We will be needing permission form the band

for the use of the song, permission to film in the certain locations as we will be using actors we would need their consent for being in the video.

We already have permission from the band themselves to use the song in the video.
