An example is this music video by Lewis Watson.

Using shots such as close ups and fade ins and double time editing to introduce to link other scenes altogether.

Creates the effect of the music video only been filmed in one shot.

Making the music video appear more as an story.

Having a longer introduction, to introduce the video.

• We thought having a slower song would benefit us since we could use a bigger variety of shots compared to just doing a lot of quick cuts if we were doing an quicker song.

• The artists we are focusing on a t the minute is James Bay, this is because he is a new and upcoming artist who hasn’t got many official music videos.

The link to his website is below.

• We thought that this would be a good idea, since it gives us the chance to show off our camera skills by having a wide range of camera shots.

• Many music video directors use this technique to create more of an artist music video. An example of this is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeLc_odK58s this is a music video directed by Mr. Brainwash. This video has a lot of visuals which create a meaning without focusing on the song.

LOTS OF VISUALS, WITH HARDLY ANY MIMING.

• Since we are using a slower song we can focus more on the editing and camera shots.

• The double time editing effect is quite popular in music videos that use more visuals, this is because it gives the effect that either time is passing by quickly or that everything is really hectic and rushing around.

• An example of this is this music video by Lewis Watson, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9LVU34xQAo the double timing affect is used in the video to show the busyness of the scene .

USING SHOTS SUCH AS CLOSE UPS AND FADE INS AND DOUBLE TIME EDITING TO INTRODUCE TO LINK OTHER SCENES ALTOGETHER.

• Since we are doing a slower song we thought it making it appear as more of a story rather than a music video would make it more interesting.

• This is a popular technique with many music video directors, partially the ones who used to be film directors.

• An example of a director that uses this technique is Anthony Mandler, he has directed music videos for very famous artists such as Rhianna and Drake.

MAKING THE MUSIC VIDEO APPEAR MORE AS AN STORY.

We think that we would be a brilliant choice for the music video contact, since we have a clear idea in mind if what we want our final product to look like and because we feel as though we would be able to create a high quality music video.

THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO OUR PITCH.
