EAB Homes is an award-winning boutique development company, which builds exceptional, high-end residential properties in and around the Home Counties. For over 30 years, the company has specialised in the design, development and building of bespoke new family homes for individuals who appreciate the very best.

With not one, but three International Property Awards now under their belts following a win for ‘Mulberry House’ this year, we catch up with the Directors Peter, Tonia and Jak, to talk about the fi ner details of their latest property, and to fi nd out who really wears the trousers in this family business…

What was the inspiration behind the design of ‘Mulberry House’?TW: Each property’s individuality is fi rstly based on heritage, paying homage to the surroundings and history, whilst incorporating a nod to the future and a complimentary mix of materials. ‘Mulberry House’ is a blend of contemporary and traditional styling, immediately obvious from the combination of old yellow stocks, crisp render and an on-trend grey palette.

What is your favourite aspect of the front of the property?JB: Personally, the amount of glass, as it lets so much light into the property. We also added a bespoke etched line detail to the glass in all of the window units to lift the look and feel of the house.

What was your focal point when starting the interior design?TW: The heart of the home is the kitchen and every detail throughout the property stems from this design. ‘Mulberry House’ is no different, and has to be my favourite kitchen to date!

What are the highlights of this kitchen?TW: Bearing in mind the aim to blend the traditional and contemporary, we paired hand-painted British shaker cabinetry with wrap-around stone worktops, and introduced contemporary Miele appliances, a Zip boiling / chilled tap, and oodles of wine storage! The unique double-island with interlocking timber breakfast bar supports not only the cooking experience, but modern family living.

How do you choose who to collaborate with?JB: Our ethos is to maintain long-term relationships with suppliers. The core values we seek in any collaboration are integrity, innovation and good communication. We also love working with other family businesses and the opportunity to support other local and British brands where we can.

Did you have a particular infl uence in mind for any of the rooms?PW: We love bringing colour into our homes, and really wanted to have some fun with this in the study! We decided to brighten this masculine space with dashes of yellow, and I even managed to sneak in a model of a McLaren F1 without anyone noticing!

We hear we can charge our electric vehicles?PW: You certainly can, and we were very excited to be the fi rst among the local luxury developers to install these. What’s more, we’ve also fi tted solar driven photovoltaic panels to the property, so charging won’t cost the earth either.

So there are lots of gadgets in the home then?JB: Yes, there are! There is a Savant Home Automation System installed, which can remotely control virtually any aspect of the property, from individual lighting and heating settings, to setting-up entire scenes combining lighting, media, heating and security features, which bring the house to life at the touch of a button. The best thing is you can do this while away on holiday, or even on your way back from the shops!

And who gets the fi nal say on interiors?PW: Tonia!JB: Tonia!TW: They know their place!

Embark your yacht in the half French and half Dutch island of Saint Martin. Anchor near quiet French style beach villages, zip line through the rain forest, swim with manta rays, or take your chances at the Casino. This island truly has something for everyone.

2. We operate a non-cancellation policy. All bookings CAN NOT be cancelled once confirmation is received via email. There is NO cancellation period.

Failure to make payment within the agreed 14-day terms may result in your account being suspended and Interest and charges under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 being applied. Where payment fails to arrive within 30 days of the original payment date we reserve the right to pass your account (along with any added interest and charges) to our nominated debt collection agency that will add further costs.

5. All invoices are payable on receipt unless otherwise agreed within a period of 14 days. If payment has not been received we reserve the right to apply a late payment interest charge at an appropriate rate.

6. We reserve the right to allow a 14-day period beyond our publication date to produce and distribute our magazines allowing for production difficulties.

7. All payments received will solely be for your allocation within the magazine. Further exposure such as social media coverage and website presence may be allocated as an additional bonus. Please note the additional social media coverage and website presence is not included as part of your package. We reserve the right to promote your business as and when we can.

8. Failure to provide regular ‘relevant’ content may result in no social media coverage. We are in full control of all imagery, image bios and hash tags.

9. Adverts that are booked will stand on their own merit
